And after buying in bulk you will never have need to buy again as it won't get exhausted? :-
At least, you would have saved some money for few months or even a year.

If you have spare cash in your account and you are a prepaid user under band b, c, d or e. Better buy tokens in bulk and load before they increase the tariff.

I am in band c under abapower and the tariff is 180 naira per kwh. It was 70 naira per kwh as at December last year.
Shey the one u are buying now nor go finish ni

If you are on Band A, you are better off installing solar. You recoup your money in 2 years and your electricity is free thereafter. You are also immune from future tarrif hikes.
Show us the math. A 5kva inverter with 5kwh lithium battery and solar will be about N4mln to N5mln

If his band A bill is 100k, it will take 4 years to break even.

Not possible solar that will carry all appliances in a duplex will cost u 7m minimum flat 3m minimum
Remember if anything happen to any gadget you will buy another

Best thing for band A be on prepaid

Light in Nigeria is still cheaper than all west Africa countries on prepaid not estimated billing

COMPAQ:
Show us the math. A 5kva inverter with 5kwh lithium battery and solar will be about N4mln to N5mln

If his band A bill is 100k, it will take 4 years to break even.
assumptions:

1. if your band a bill is 100K it means you consume about 444kw per month or 14kwh per day
2. your average hourly consumption is 14kw/24 or .583kwh
3. average monthly bill is 100k which means in 2 years you spend 2.4m on electricity

calculations:

to generate 14kwh per day you need 4.4kw of solar panels, 8 x 550w panels = N1m
5kw lithium battery N1.2m
2.5-3kw inverter 300K
installation ?

total excluding installation N2.5 million or 2 years payback

if you like you can replace the battery with 7.5KW for more storage capacity at 1.5M (instead of 1.2m) and the inverter with a higher capacity or higher quality for 500-600K (instead of 300K) , add 2 more panels for 5.5kw of panels @ 125k each, increasing your total to N3.2 m or 2 yrs 8 months payback thereafter all your electricity is free.

Assuming tarrif never goes up, Over 5 years you will pay 6m on band A and over 5 years you will have paid 3.2m with the more expensive second option.

its because you havent done the proper analysis. solar is cheaper than band A

your panels have a 25 year lifespan and lithium batteries will last 10 years even if you change your inverter 3 times in 10yrs it is still cheaper than band A over the 10 year period.

band A tarrif will rise during the 10yr period, once you install solar you have installed solar and you have no bills.

finally band A does not mean you have constant electricity and does not protect your equipment from low voltage and voltage spikes which having an inverter and solar does.

I am on band A, they will still give you an average of 20hrs a day but sometimes they take light 5,6 times in a day, sometimes 4 times in an hr. band A does not mean you will have light every day, we have had days when there is no nepa at all for the whole day then there will be NEPA for 1 week straight. Band A does not help you when the grid collapses. You can have no light for 4 days straight and your disco will still be compliant with the 20hr commitment. It is average of 20hrs a day not a guarantee of 20hrs every day! Whether you are on band A or not you will still require a generator or an inverter and battery so why not just add solar and forget about nepa?

I spend only like 20k a month on bandA electricity.
1hp AC, fridge and TV.
If I was to install solar to carry these things, it will cost me around 3m, that's like 12yrs worth of BandA electricity.
