Governance typically refers to how a government manages public resources, makes decisions, and serves its citizens. Effective governance is often characterized by transparency, accountability, fairness, and responsiveness. So, why do people in positions of governance prefer to have their families live abroad and be governed by someone else? This clearly suggests that they may not have the best interests of the people at heart.

Wouldn’t it be more reasonable for anyone involved in governance to stay in their own country with their families, just like the people they serve? This isn't rocket science. In my honest opinion and observation, insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, murder, militancy, robbery, and all the other social ills would be drastically reduced if those in power had to face the same threats and pressures as the people they govern. The will to do what’s right would naturally emerge when everyone is confronted with these challenges. If you have a different perspective, feel free to share it in the comments—I’d love to learn from you.

But we all know that the biggest investment by Muslim governors of the North on their people is to sponsor them to Mecca pilgrimage or getting underage kids together and marrying them off by the hundreds or thousands.

Northern governors are known for doing this, it's not new in the north. It's done to encourage their indigens. When I was serving in Sokoto 13 years ago, Governor Wammako sent high number of medical students abroad in exchange program. Same thing in Kebbi State. Students in engineering, medical field and so on were being sent abroad to complete their degree overseas. They already have solid arrangement with some Unis abroad for exchange program. U will never hear such a thing in the South West.
