The decision of the 36 members, who gathered at the assembly garden on Thursday afternoon, followed the ousted Obasa's forceful takeover of the office 9f the speaker, aided by retinue of thugs and armed men.

The lawkers, who had earlier on February 17, passed a vote of confidence on Meranda, dared all consequences to stand by their earlier decision.

A lawmaker who pleaded anonymity, said he and his other colleagues are resolved to ensure that their decision to remove Obasa stands.

"He was not elected speaker from his constituency. We all endured his master-slave relationship for close to 10 years. Now, we have said enough is enough and we are not looking back," the lawmaker said.

Meanwhile, two out of 39 other lawmakers, Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly called, Osmak, representing Mushin Constituency 1, and Noheem Adams, representing Mushin Constituency II, have been spotted accompanying Obasa to the complex.

As at the time of filing this report, the doors to the office of the Speaker had been forced open by Obasa loyalists, with huge-chestesd thugs scattered over strategic places in the complex.

Also, some armed miscreants, who accompanied Obasa to the complex were seen making threatening remarks, and vowing to take possession of all the offices in the complex.

The access roads to the complex have been taken over by people suspected to be Obasa's thugs who arrived the scene in unmarked Kombi buses .

Motorists are being forced to drive through alternative routes as all entrances have been blocked to traffic.

Power is transient.

Tinubu's strangle hold on Lagos politics is gradually being challenged. Expect more dramas.

Its very illegal for any legislative house to sit without a quorum,the supreme court should please decide Rivers case in earnest and put a stop to this madness.

It's like saying akpabio is stronger(has political influence) than tinubu. What gives any political office "power" is the constitution... And so.... U are wrong.

Definitely there is a power somewhere backing Obasa, or else he won't be doing all these nonsense. The house of assembly decided that they don't want their leader again, but someone somewhere is saying no, they must want him by force by force, is it not funny.

I am talking about senatorial district not local government.

Obasa represents Lagos west. Alimosho and Agege are both in Lagos west.

Part of the problem with the speakership is the senatorial district of the speaker.

Obasa may win this round, but it is clear that he has been rejected. And when one has been rejected, it is too late. This man is gone. That's just the simple truth. When those that want to force him back realise he has been rejected, they will be the ones to advise him to resign peacefully. If I was Meranda, I would sit back and watch events push me back to the speaker's seat.

That is the reason a boy driving his father's G-wagon is not fit to talk back at another one that bought his 2004 corolla with his sweat. Sanwo-Olu's daddy put him where he is, Obasa actually adds something substantial to their political equation.
