Good day nairalanders, I'm an 100l undergraduate and my university course registration is ending tomorrow, I haven't paid for school fees but the money will be available in like 2 weeks time so I won't be able to meet up tomorrow, if I'm to pay my school fees, can I write second semester exams and carry over this first semester? What's my fate?

go to your department and enquire from the secretary or adviser

Whether you register. Course or not, if you write any exams it's been recorded but the points won't be allocated to you, it's will not be uploaded on your profile untill you make necessary payment, it will just be with the exams and record but they won't upload it until you pay, although you can go to exams and record and check your result after exams, but you self try pay before next semester go start so you won't complicate issues for yourself, the earlier the better

unilag doesn't do acceptance fee but I've done clearance, paid faculty and departmental fees and I've done the registration, it's only school fees that I haven't paid for and without school fees I won't be able to register course and get matric number

Without matric number it's a waste of time writing the exams because it won't be recorded, it will be thrown out, in my alumni that year u might not be allowed to even enter the exam hall without your duly signed course form

i paid school fees yesterday but wasn't allowed to register course, was told it was already closed, I don't know if I've lost the admission

Just keep your receipt, they will eventually open the portal again for late registration before exams proper

no, I went to cits but they said there's nothing they can do, I'll just have to continue with 2nd semester

yeah I've filled mine, hopefully the issue will be resolved, my issue now is how to do my assignment and tests because I haven't gotten matric number, I don't even have a bed space

Just defer the admission and resume properly next session.

Ok, if you can be fast with that...




But in my own observation, to save yourself some stress and rush with exams why not defer the admission, it's just one year, you will start properly with a calm mind... Get the matric number but fully start the next session.

Just get the necessary course works and materials and start preparing ahead, it will even give you an edge. Make the lecturers your friend and also draw close to them for advise.

Don't let the rush of fresher year holds you down because it will keep piling up till your final year.
