I Swear To God, Coding Still Pays But Can You Bear The Initial Brunt? by Trollronaldo(op): 10:45pm On Feb 27, 2025
Coding still pays, it changed my life overnight. I moved from zero balance to more than 500k monthly overnight. I cannot believe it.

But it takes a while. If you want to learn to code, just forget about making money from it in your first or maybe second year. You will see pepper, you must put eveything aside and learn it. It very difficult and challenging in the initial stage but gets easier as you go.

Coding is not for someone who needs immediate money, dedicate 2 years of intensive study and practice, else you will get frustrated and leave. Coding does not like to share, if you are working elsewhere, it will be difficult to learn coding. It takes a lot of time.

Before my eyes, I have seen lives changed from programming and it also changed my life recently.

Learning coding is the issue, not getting jobs.. If you know coding very well and you exercise patience and apply for jobs, you will get the job.

My first coding job was as a frontend instructor, the initial pay as 40k and then I earned 100k. I got the job by contacting all the tech schools in my area. I bombed them daily.
The job I have now, I got it from a whatsapp job community. Someone posted it and then I chatted her up. I got the interview immediately and landed the job.

People don't want to do the due diligence, they want to start making a lot of money after 6 months, it does not work that way. I landed the job because I lectured the interviewer react, he was dazed. I could lecture him because I taught react for 1 year. At some point, the guy shouted "you be my Oga"

I advice people to give coding to years of learning before even thinking about making money

About learning the coding not being the problem i was speaking for myself and others like me.

Okay i can see how you get employed now:

1. Constantly send messages to agencies & tech schools
2. Join social media job groups.

By 100k you mean naira?

500,000 in naira cannot change your life.
Probably won't even last a month

It is not about Coding.
All other endeavors in life are like that.
Only few people get lucky to start Big.
I studied petroleum engineering and began working with local oil service companies. My starting salary was 50k for 3 years. Did another 2 years + on 250k. Then got a big job in the middle east for thousands of dollars monthly. Back in Naija now and what I earn is just Mad. It is not about coding alone. Except you Wan do yahoo, if you start small as a pro, it will take time before you boom and once you do, the rest is history

The project I was managing finished. I could have stayed back till the expiration of my visa to look for other jobs, but I got another offer in Naija with a multinational now in dollars. Not everyone is so keen to leave Nigeria
