seunlayi:SRNE, Powmr, Felicity all sell MPPTs. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nteogwuija(m): 7:02pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
HeavenlyBang:It's an hybrid inverter, 60a mppt. The inverter is a 12v inverter with a maximum voltage of 50v, meaning I can't run the 3 panels in series because each panel is about 25v. Is there a way I can run the panels to produce at most 30a? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by KA24DETT(m): 7:12pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
HeavenlyBang:Thats not true.. 8mm copper is overkill. 4mm pure copper will serve fine. Unless its copper coated and not pure copper strands |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by KA24DETT(m): 7:14pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
seunlayi:PowMr has a 60 amps MPPT controller. I have seen some sellers post it on this board. check previous post. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by KA24DETT(m): 7:16pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
Nteogwuija:with 50v. you can only use 2 or buy another one to make it 4. You cant use 3. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nteogwuija(m): 8:07pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
KA24DETT:Okay, thanks. I'd have to buy another panel then. Meaning I'd connect 2 strings of series to a parallel line, right? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by KA24DETT(m): 9:10pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
Nteogwuija:Yeah. get another panel and connect it 2s2p. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira(m): 9:59pm On Feb 28, 2025 |
KA24DETT:Did you get him well? Abi na me no dey see? Each panel is 25v Best alternative for now are 2 panels in parallel. Series of 2s 2p is 50v already which is his max cc. |

. We talking about a system that is 350watts x 3 = 1050 watts. Assuming 80 percent out put since most panels are measured in STC we get an output of 840 watts. Using formular of Voltage = I*R = we know the voltage (50volts) and the resistance of the wire (16.78 nΩ•m at 20 °C). Solving for current. you get ~ 17amps 4mm wires can carry up to 32 amps. He is fine with 4mm2 wire. |

dollarnaira:He is fine because you fail to account for temperature coefficient. He is not seeing 50volts bro. Most measurement are under STC. Remember when the Charge controller is under load, voltage drops. Yep, he is never seeing 50 volts |

KA24DETT:Have you seen a situation where his 25v could hit 27v? Never get too close to your mac cc. Some pv are crazy under intense sunlight. He has his choice to make. |

jonescosmos:I contacted my supplier and they hooked me up with one of their installers, after hours of debugging there was no solution and he told me that my cable might be faulty then before the call ended told me that my installation does not meet their standards due to not having a breaker between the battery and the inverter and also using an incorrect breaker in my installation meaning if my system is to develop a fault it won't be covered by warranty (which I think he said to try to stop me from claiming warranty rights). |

Adding to my prior issues, i can't get the shine wifi to power on. It came on but I couldn't configure it the first day. Since the second day I plugged it, it doesn't come on anymore. Edit: Does anyone know where I can get a spare BMS cable? |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Allem(m): 2:40am On Mar 01, 2025 |
Try know how many amps the jbd BMS be Secondly you can't compare jk BMS to JBD BMS. Lastly JK display screen with a lot of information can't be place with regular alaba DC voltage meter. Iron box etc. Na this my few points make valto 100 amps reach that e amount JJacko: |

JJacko:So what exactly is your own point? A lot of people have patronised Valto here and never complained. If you feel his item is too pricey for you, just pass. You can't compare the economies of scale of Chinese manufacturers with an entrepreneur in Nigeria.I recently bought s 48v50 ah from him and I am impressed with the build and look ,even though I am yet to connect it as it's for use in another location. Don't try to bring down the hard work of anyone,e get why!!! |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by JJacko: 7:02am On Mar 01, 2025 |
omotoda:The major point of DIY is to reduce costs to match quality. We shouldn't be in the business of pushing pesin market to the point where it gives the chance to turn around and chop people head. For someone that built his business on the back of this thread/forum, Valto is greedy, call a spade a spade. And never talk about build quality in the same sentence again. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by JJacko: 7:12am On Mar 01, 2025 |
omotoda:If you had any sense of what true DIY is, you would be clamouring for those days when members here would collaborate to order cells from China and everyone got their money's worth. Instead you buy shylock battery still go keep, dey cap rubbish. |

JJacko: mr hater, u no de tire? better use your real popular moniker on this thread for this..i don't have 12v 100ah in stock, so what is the fuse about ![]() what i have is this 12v 142ah 1.8kwh made with JK 100A 1A active balancer Bluetooth bms for 399k vs the quoted 12v 100ah 1.280kwh made with 100A JBD Bluetooth bms for 290k. your common sense will tell u the cheaper one! |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by JJacko: 7:20am On Mar 01, 2025 |
Valto:Bomb dey all of una head. Both you and the other sellers. Na the moderator of the thread I blame wey allow y'all to bastardize an otherwise proper forum. DIY is not marketplace. |
