I have some questions for you. In Lagos by the island, how frequently should one paint a tank tower because of the salty moisture in the air ?

Should the bolted plate be covered in concrete to stop it from rusting, again in the Lekki area of Lagos where iron rusts easily?

Lastly, is it better to use galvanised plate instead of H beams to seat the tanks ?

it's ok to repaint yearly with anti rust paint

It's not the best practice to cover the base plates with concrete. It's best to observe the degradation of the materials and take decisions fast. Meanwhile,12mm plates will have a minimum lifespan of about twenty five years even in Lekki

What I do is lay H channels and then drop a plain sheet where the tank will rest. The tank will be safer on a very flat surface

I painted this tank black after the construction but the owner said he wanted aluminum color. So after about a week, I came back to repaint

The final look

Meanwhile we're starting work at another site. First thing we're doing is to decoupling the previous tank stand and make another one that is taller and with more capacity.

From 40ft to 47ft. From four legged to six legged. From four (4) tanks to ten(10) tanks

A welder once suggested that angle iron can be used to construct a tank stand to support a 1000 ltrs tank for a bungalow. How true is this? If true, what size (or gauge) would you recommend for the various parts?
