Anambra State finalized the stringent application process with the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) necessary for designating the proposed Anambra Mixed Use Industrial City (AMIC) as a free trade zone. Upon receiving this designation, AMIC is anticipated to become Anambra's manufacturing hub, catering to Nigeria and the broader African market. As a free trade zone in Nigeria, AMIC is expected to benefit from the following advantages: tax exemptions, reduced regulatory hurdles, and streamlined customs procedures.

WAT TYPE OF BRIDGE IS THAT? THEY NEED TO CONSTRUCT A MODERN STANDARD BRIDE AND OPEN UP THAT ROOT WITH GOOD ROAD. IT IS BECAUSE THE PLACE IS DESERTED THAT MADE CRIMINALS TURN IT INTO A DEN. MASSIVE CONSTRUCTION WORK WILL DRIVE THEM INTO HIDING ELSEWHERE.

poverty in Anambra actually grew (from less than 25% in 2005) to about 53% under Peter Obi in 2010/2011 but fell under Willie Obiano to 14.78% in 2020. Yes, poverty more than doubled under Peter Obi and more than 50% of Ndi Anambra were in poverty under him- Soludo how can you hate him |

NoIgboSoundTueh:I've seen these stats bandied about a lot (usually by Peter Obi detractors) and all it indicates to me is that data collection in Nigeria is a joke. Nigeria was still in the midst of the 4th Republic economic boom in 2010/2011 (when Anambra's poverty was apparently above 50%) and suffered a recession around 2020 (when Anambra's poverty rate apparently crashed to below 15%) with the crash in international crude price which would be further amplified with the Covid pandemic. Anyone that thinks Anambra's poverty crashed from over 50% in 2010 (with no major events like a war, a natural disaster, a pandemic or some other adverse event to explain this) to less than 15% in 2020 is an idioot. NBS just cook up a lot of nonsensical stats with opaque and clearly flawed methodology and collation methods. This is also ignoring the fact that in Nigeria's unitary system of government, state governors have very little impact on economic outcomes in their states. |

I ACTUALLY MONITOR AND ENJOY SEEING THEIR DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESS PASSIONATELY. THEY BETTER PUT TRAFFIC LIGHT THERE AND ZEBRA CROSSING TO GIVE THAT THING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ANY MEANING. I STILL THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IN OR AROUND ALEX EKWUEME SQUARE, INSTEAD OF ON THE ROAD. WE MAKE CRITICISM AND ALSO RECOMMENDATION. DALU! |

Anambra State has emerged as the fifth-largest oil-producing state in Nigeria, trailing Akwa-Ibom, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa, according to recent data. Notably, our OML 143 Okwuibome oil field in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state has achieved significant success, presently managed by SEEPCO oil and gas, with its crude oil being highly sought after by refineries in North America, Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Australia due to its low sulfur sweet crude quality. Meanwhile, the Anambra basin, also located in Anambra State and managed by Orient Petroleum, experienced limited production last year.

ANSMEDIA:I am sure that Anambra state produces more than 100,000 barrels! Amazingly, we had no idea that the Indian company was producing in Ogbaru but was attributing its oil production to Delta state! The worst kind of slave bondage is the type where your prison guards are your OWN people! ..............All the oil production derivative payment made to Delta state on that oil field should be refunded to anambra state ASAP.........otherwise we go to court! |
