People might confess something they didn't do due to fear of death. I don't support mob action however I don't blame them since our police system is corrupt.

it happens, especially when tormented or tortured

I don't buy that act what if it was a ritualist who killed and beheaded the woman on the farm?but the man set ablaze was implicated because of his past altercations with her?it was the woman's son words against his he wasn't caught in the act he could have falsely confessed as a result of intense, barbaric toture,and fear for his life because black men aren't capable of interrogating nicely and gently!!

This is jungle justice 🤮. Mob action shouldn't be celebrated. It's archaic and barbaric. I hope the police fish out all those involved in this inhuman act.

We're dealing with a situation where an individual, was accused of murder based on a reported threat to kill the victim over a land dispute. Now, I'm not saying the threat shouldn't be taken seriously, but people need to separate allegations from facts.

Here's the thing: the suspect wasn't caught in the act. There's no concrete evidence linking him to the crime scene. The only thing they had was a confession obtained after intense interrogation. Now, I'm not naive, but we also know that forced confessions under duress are real .

People can and do falsely confess to crimes under duress. The pressure and fear. What if he was innocent after-all?

If it was your mother that was killed you won't be saying this.

I love how Delta don't fûck around with cases like this unlike the ones in the west where we'll hearing that some aren't even behind the cell anymore.

What Is Really Happening Inside This DELTA

A Mob has set ablaze one man identified as Egholor for allegedly beheading an aged woman over land matters in Ukpiovwin community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspect was said to have killed the woman at her farm.

According to reports, the woman went to the farm, but did not return by sunset. Worried by the development, her children went in search of her, only to find her headless body in the bush. The incident triggered the youth vowed to fish out the culprit. It was learnt that one of the woman’s children recalled that the mother had been having a land dispute with the suspect who had on several occasions threatened to kill her if she refused to leave the land.

Armed with this information, a mob reportedly marched to the suspect’s home, where he (Egholor) was said to have confessed to the crime after much interrogation.

Angered by his confessions, the mob reportedly pounced on him, as well as set him and his properties ablaze.

Spokesman of the Delta Police Command, Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe did not take a call, nor did he respond to a message requesting confirmation of the incident.

At the end the victim is forced to confess to what the torturers want to hear. Why do you think that torture of suspects is outlawed by international conventions?

If they torture you, you will confess that you committed a crime that happened before you were born.

Some people will think the picture you posted is that of the "beheader"... The confession was likely under duress. Hope they didn't kill an innocent man.

If they beat you mercilessly you will admit that you killed Alfred Rewane and Bola Ige and confess to anything they accuse you of.. you will sing like a canary. Torture is horrible.. it's called admission/confession under duress

Hmmm ... after intense interrogation the man confessed ... so what happened to the head?... didn't they get that information before sending him off the earth in a cloud of smoke?
