i can't believe this newtopia people killed Alex lol I actually felt bad cos he was the most sensible among the civilians. As for the soldiers, now that their commander is dead, they should just allow the hotel girl lead them lol she seems to be the bravest among them or weirdly enough Ra in ho should do it since he's the most resourceful one

Jung hae seong is a better person than I am cos I would help lee dong min but I would never continue a friendship with him. I understand his situation and all he has to go through with his grandma but if there's anyone I hate even more than bullies and cheats, it's cowards urghh please I don't care about his rubbish situation, I just think he's a fuc((king loser and a coward who's actually very evil cos what do you mean the only choice you had was to frame the only person in school who's actually your friend. Puhleasseeee everyone has a choice. You can choose right or wrong but he was willing to choose wrong. He's a coward. Why must someone's life be destroyed because you and your grandma are poor. I honestly can never support him willing to frame an innocent person. It's like kidnapping and killing someone to steal their heart just because my mother is dying and needs a heart transplant. There's no difference

As for my dearest, I don't know what twist you're expecting from a simple and straightforward romcom o 🤣 but I doubt you'll get any twist.

Newtopia isn't getting any serious, it's just that the mumuness is not as annoying as the initial episodes. It's still a pretty unserious drama

Random post: ok I think I have a bit of time to talk about my change of heart after rewatching the interest of love 🤣 I'm going to try to make it as short as I can (in Jesus name lol). I guess my blood was boiling too hot when I watched the drama cos I thought the main leads were being cowards not following their hearts and it was annoying to see them make rubbish decisions in the name of trying to find happiness. TBH I really wanted to kill the female lead especially 🤣🤣 she made me so angry but after rewatching it I actually felt bad for her cos she really did try her best to avoid a relationship where she'll be put to shame and unhappy because of societal standards. She self sabotaged a lot of times because she felt a person in her situation didn't deserve to be with someone "better" than her and that if she stayed with someone in her "level" she would be happy and satisfied which made her go for the 2nd male lead who she thought was in her level and she really did try her best to make it work but unfortunately for her, Mr 2nd lead was basically also in her shoes cos he thought she was "better" than him and he didn't deserve to be with her, so she tried to run away from a relationship that might make her ashamed only to also end up in another relationship that made her ashamed 😩 there was a scene were she wanted to hold hands and tell everyone in the bank she was dating Mr 2nd lead but because he was a security guard, he refused cos he didn't want people gossiping about them basically the same way she knew people would gossip about her if they found out she was in a relationship with 1st lead. I felt so bad for them in that scene. I remember the first time I watched the scene where she was asking the male lead if she should break up with her boyfriend lmao I was so pissed! I was cursing everyone from heaven to hell🤣 but after watching it again I wasn't angry cos I realized that girlie was just so exhausted cos she's sacrificing her desires trying to be happy but she's still not happy. I also thought the 2nd female lead was a spoilt brat but I could sympathize with her cos her dad basically destroyed her happiness and she was also trying to do what she thought best to be happy, ironically she also wasn't happy with her choice to trap man by force 😩

I also really understood some of the symbolisms used in the drama. The first time I watched it and they spoke about the hill of oblivion about how when you climb it, you forget everything and focus, I got it but I don't think I got it as much as I did after rewatching it. Which brings me to the end...

So the end was a very long dialogue between the leads, where they talked about if they were really in love or if it was just the fact that their situation was kinda forbidden which is why it seemed like they were in some sort of great sad love story and I understood it the first time I watched it cos tbh if they had gone into a relationship early, they could either be happy and live happily ever after or have a nice relationship for a few weeks, months, years, whatever, get tired of each other and break up amicably but because they didn't even give it a try they kept feeling like they were missing something big in their lives. The part I didn't get at all till I rewatched it was the very end.

So after years of not seeing each other (typical drama bullshi!;t), they run into each other, climb the hill of oblivion, then she asked him what he forgot, he says "nothing", they smile at each other and walk away. The end. 🙄 The first time I watched it, I thought he meant he had not forgotten all the wahala and stress he went through and them walking away without saying anything like I love you meant they will continue to be friends . That's it. So it was a bittersweet ending for me (even though the hopeful romantic in me decided to imagine that they'll somehow get back together,🤣) but after rewatching it 🤣 I realized that when he said he forgot "nothing" he meant he didn't forget how much he loved her and he would continue to love her . Lmao 🤦 I felt like such a mumu cos it was actually very obvious, I was just too angry to notice it especially since I had seen people who read the original novel it was adapted from say the female lead made much more annoying choices in the book🤣🤣 anyway I'm no more annoyed. The only annoying thing is did she really have to disappear for years urghh I hate it when dramas do that thing.

Shout-out to the director of the drama by the way cos I just found out it was the same person that directed do you like brahms. I totally see his style of directing but he really did improve so so much with the interest of love and I love it when writers and directors improve as their career goes on, not that your past works will be better than your current works. That's the literal worst. Anyway he's the same person directing SEO hyun Jin's upcoming drama so I'm hoping the drama will also be good of course that really depends on the writer and it could just be that he was lucky cos the interest of love was a novel and not a drama written by some scriptwriter so who knows 🤷

So I actually liked this one but it wasn't a perfect drama and my main issues with it were

1. The romance was introduced too late. Aigoo I legit thought there wasn't going to be any romance between the leads cos there wasn't even the slightest indication but suddenly at the last minute they threw in romance and even though I'm usually a sucker for romance, this one felt rushed. Of course the actors are awesome so they tried their best but storywise, it didn't make sense

2. Unnecessary villain arc. I hate it when dramas suddenly change someone's character just cos the drama must have a villain. I mean the 2nd male lead was just a normal human being going about his business and just because they wanted a villain, they suddenly made him bad with no reason or motive it didn't make sense

3. Rushed ending = incomplete storylines. Some storylines felt incomplete

Still I'll count this among nice dramas I've seen
