Do you know the story of Nigeria's independence? It came as a shock to Northern Nigeria that the Western Region wanted independence. They smelt the threat that it will put them behind so they told the British to postpone our independence. History is repeating itself. The reason why those in Southern Nigeria wanted independence was because they went to school in Britain and understudied them. In the North, there is a feudal system and only the elite and their children go to school. This is why today compared to the South, most children of the elite go to very good schools while the children of the masses can be almajiri. The elite will continue to rule and marry among themselves. The masses don't need to go to school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hahxW8jYMwU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN_Q9i4HZg4 |

I have never heard this kind of a thing since I was born. Close down school for good five weeks because of common fasting? Is fasting by force? The governor of those state should resign for such useless decision. And our government didn't even see anything wrong with such foolish decision, I pity the people voted such cognitive impaired sets of people into power. Haba!! |

This is why Yoruba Muslims don't follow the North in their Taqqiya that Sharia is for only Muslims, they know it's not said by northerners with any iota of sincerity |

osazsky:See this omo ale. You're not even proud of your tribe but pretending to be another person just to make a senseless point. Chinedu, stop being obsessed with Yoruba matters as if your very existence depends on it. You have worse things to deal with in your less developed 5 plots of land. osazsky:Product of baby factory and their alarming level of inferiority complex is just out of this world. You can’t survive without Yorubas hence your obsession. We do understand though, you can only be obsessed with what is bigger than you and what you aspire to be. Keep at it. Your existence depends on it. Pathetic lots |

madridguy:School also close anytime you're having your sallah. Should Nigeria adopt Islamic calendar? They are using Gregorian calendar to pay your salary with your people in Islam, why not cry over that rather than crying because of Christmas and New year break? Or should government be using Islamic calendar to pay you off? Backward people still in 1446 AH |

It is their right to stop school for ramadan just as it is the right of others not interested in stopping their academic carlender....this scenario would've been ok in a faith based school or a religious state like the vatican...religion of any faith should not affact the rights of another. How will pupils or students of affected states meet up with national exams for instance that have set dates? IPIGSRSHALLOW: |

madridguy:Don't do that... Don't be thrifty with the truth. Schools Don't close every December because of Christians... School Holidays are fixed and are subject to the curriculum from the established Ministry of Education in Nigeria, binding across and has existed long before you were born. Closing down schools in the middle of the session makes no sense when it's not a security issue. Nigeria is not a core Muslim or Christian nation. Even in core Islamic nations like Saudi, they don't shut down schools or businesses because of Ramadan fasting. Besides, if such a thing needs become a practice, it's supposed to pass through the right parliamentary channels. |

Fasting doesn't mean these people won't still bomb or kill themselves Fasting won't stop child marriage, mass wedding for people who don't have financial strength Northern governors are the most redundant governors in Nigeria, who will be highly engaged with human and physical project will be concerned with people's wedding plan if not that empty head governors like northern Nigeria lazy ass idiots Even the educated ones won't sensitize their people, they've religion brain that had relegated them in all angles and decline education brain that still make them appeared like human small |

The bottom line is when you compare the governor s of the state involved you conclude that they are all not educational minded, you see that a highly educated governor like Babagana Zulum of Borno state values education and would not interrupt schools activities for any reason. |

IPIGSRSHALLOW:You are going in clueless circles... Your argument is neither here nor there. We are talking about impunity and abuse of office here, not to mention disregard for national laws and the unity of the nation. Nobody closes schools down on Sundays... This is a universal practice especially in Christian and Secular nations. Nigeria is a secular nation designed and operated to accommodate all religions... if that has changed, then let us know. If other states and regions start coming up with their own, how do you think this nation will end up?!! Do you practice a decentralised and regional government in Nigeria, for starters?!! I now see why wise people spoke out against that Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023... It was said that it would give room for so much impunity across the nation Wahala dey o! |

madridguy:You are thinking in reverse. You religious lapdogs and religious extremist aren't serious. Where your right stop, my rights began from there. You have the freedom to practice your religion but yours should not affect mine. Oga,don't insult our sensitive with your half baked information/knowledge. The break that students usually enjoyed from December to January is called, winter break, not Christmas break, while it normally coincide with Christmas celebrations, only 3 days are officially recognised and celebrated as holiday(25th and 26th December forChristmas, then 1st January, as new year celebration). Muslims also partake in those winter break as it's recognised worldwide. |

very good CAN has been dull and slow in protecting Christians. CAN should be like Muric and complain, shout, sue when Christian rights are being infringed on. All churches and pastors should support this court case. CAN should stand up and defend Christians...we have the numbers, resources and capital. |
