Oga you are just daft and shortsighted. 1 million okada riders earning 100k a month is 1.2trillion annual GDP but they are of no value to a state because by law they provide no taxable income. Whereas 10 high value employees earning a combined 1billion a year pay N210m in income tax to the state. If your state cannot attract the kind of companies that have employees that can pay those levels of taxes then your GDP is just story for the gods.

GDP that does not translate to revenue for the state or country is meaningless for development. Agriculture may be our highest contribution to GDP but most of them are poor farmers who don’t pay taxes, on the contrary they suck resources from the govt in the form of agricultural aid, seeds, farm equipment, fertilizer tractors, extension aid etc. 1 large scale agric entity like presco, okumu, or Olam contribute more in taxes than 1 million small scale farmers. That is why the quality of the “GDP” matters.

You can have 1 million farmers in a state with combined GDP in the trillions but the government will not get a single penny out of any of them in taxes to build roads, schools etc. but the taxes from just one 10,000 hectare plantation will give you enough revenue from taxes to build multiple schools and roads every year. Okomu Oil for example paid 17b in profit taxes last year, this does not include things like VAT income tax, import duties etc etc. if you have 20,000 farmers with 1ha each their output will be roughly the same but you won’t get a penny out of them. Like I said you will be the one paying them.


That’s the difference in the quality of residents and investments. That is why the GDP of Anambra is similar or slightY higher than my state but we make 5 times their IGR. We have higher quality residents. Which is down to higher quality businesses. Which is a reflection of infrastructure.

What I keep asking you dumbo that believe that you make more IGR more than others, since you believe no industries in Anambra, no business going on there, same state is delivering more infrastructure without borrowing you that calm huge IGR can't do without borrowing, most indebted state, when Nigeria went on bankrupt your state was asking for bailout to pay ordinary workers salary while Anambra didn't ask that was when the built their airport under 18months, so what's your state doing with the huge IGR you are claiming despite being most indebted state? If you are from Ogun they've been struggling to complete small airport not minding they borrowed huge for the airport project, while Anambra built airport with second-longest runway in Nigeria with: Length – 3.7km and a runway end safety area (RESA) of 1km at both ends of the runway; width – 60 m; strip – 440 metr under 18 months, and bigger International Conference Centre(ICC) without borrowing, so which mega projects has your state done with the huge IGR you claimed that Anambra state can do?

Yes not taking of loan for non productive reasons are good but taking of loan and well utilize that yielded profits and benefitial to the citizens is not bad at all.

That is a sign of directionless government. The government doesn't know what to do with world bank loan because there are no development plans on ground to put the funds into use and do quick pay back. Even USA being richest in the world still borrow money. When you have capital project and infrastructure in sight beyond state financial capacity, there is no way you wouldn't borrow to finance them like FG is doing, but because the government is directionless and has no capital project except petty petty projects, it will continue to brag in ignorance. Tell Anambra government to finance deep sea port, railway infrastructure across the state and many other big investments. Building houses and building few kilometer roads are petty petty projects. Government should wake up to invest in big projects by sourcing for loans and judiciously make use of them, bragging on ignorance does nobody any good

In case of your politicians, those loans are squandered, and if your revenue is channeled properly without being siphoned, you'll achieve more than those taking loans

Right now there is almost no big business in Nigeria without a base in Ibadan Oyo state, check very well you will always see Ibadan among list of bases of business that are present in Abuja and Lagos.

It is statistics like VAT that determine where some businesses will situate their base in Nigeria because high VAT signal the level of products being purchase in a state.

Those factories that pays peanut to their workers and got tax waiver, in reality their products are being sold in places like Anambra in bulks, smes and private businesses thrive in Anambra and that contribute more and develop nations more than few multinationals

We are against "corrupt borrowings", but that doesn't mean that we are against borrowings of all types. What do I mean?
Anambra state has alot of projects to do. So if soludo has lots of healthy projects in mind and he feels that he needs to borrow to fund those, I will encourage him to do so. Why? He looks a bit more polished than most of the political hyenas angling for the job of Anambra state governor. Atleast, he looks like he will not embezzle such funds, and he obviously has the financial background to manage such loans effectively to achieve desired results.

But such can not be said for say Hope Uzodimma in Imo state or Sanwo Olu in Lagos State. APC as a party is desperate to hyjack all state houses in Nigeria to create a one party state. These APC urchins are bound to fiddle with such funds and may end up swallowing everything if they are the ones at Anambra state government House. If soludo refuses to borrow all through his term based on principles, there is a good chance that the guy coming after him might even be far more financially wreckless and will go ahead to borrow the same funds and squander them without these projects being done..

When you deduct all the money being stolen, most of these states may not need to borrow, if Soludo has closed those channels, they may be sufficient
