You are still paying subsidy, but now it has increased more due to your inability as a failed government to keep the exchange rate inorder.

How come people just react to headlines without reading?

When they say Nigerians have a low IQ, I strongly believe it’s because of people like these
Aptly put. As soon as they saw subsidy in the headline, they jumped on it without adequate understanding, without even reading thebody of article.

One of the low grade minds on this forum. Have you read the quote from the article that I included in my reply?. You saw subsidy in the headline and you started jumping. Did you read it was an exchange rate differentials?

What in God's name are you even saying?

Now from what you quoted, why is the govt paying for the exchange rate differential?

When a government decides to partly bear the cost of a commodity so her citizens can have that commodity lower than the actual cost, what's that practice called Mr kiss the truth?

At the time the dollar was fluctuating, NNPCL still got to import fuel, this was last year. We knew how unstable the currency was. It was fluctuating almost every hour. It's only make sense that Government intervened in the differentials.

Every idiot is an adviser in the East.

How many electric cars have you bought in your family?
Rather it is every idiot that comments on post without clear thought out reasoning.
It’s mind-numbing how people comment without a shred of critical thinking. Did you not see the mention of solar home? If every household had solar power, reliance on fuel would drop, cutting wasteful spending on generators and fuel. That’s common sense.

Meanwhile, Eastern state governments are already making strides toward electric power—Abia just acquired EVs for its House of Assembly members. If you can’t think outside the box, that’s your personal limitation. The world is moving forward with or without you

This must be a scam gone too far. During this period. NNPC never remitted to federation account claiming the price was under recovery. They can’t come back and claim what was already taken

This is why I advised the east to go electric, electric cars, solar homes . Nigeria is just unbelievable.
No part of Nigeria is ready for full scale adoption of electric cars.

We need to upscale power generation plus upgrade the grid before we can say uhuru

Let's not even forget that we have to train people to fix and maintain the electric cars.

I have an ongoing solar project for a family that's live and work in the United States and have a mansion with an electric car in the east , part of the project is for the solar system and it's farm of inverters to power everything in the house, cctv, air-conditioning system, water pumps etc as well as charge the vehicles. After cost estimates we found out that the cost of implementing the project will be recovered in less than 4 years of the family lived off the grid and used their vehicles full time . As per maintenance, electric cars don't require so much maintenance like the petrol cars and there are already more than 2 electric car manufacturing companies in the east with well trained technicians and engineers. This is the best times for businesses and business men in the east to go solar and electric.

The east will be the first region to go full electric which will be driven by very aggressive entrepreneurs with their eagle eyed marketing and sales team. This will now drive aggressive deployment of renewable energy systems like solar by individuals and businesses to serve the electric car eco system. Just bookmark my comment. I know how the east works.

Exactly, so why are you saying people didn't read the thread?
What you explained here is still called subsidy, no matter how you want to twist it.
You used the word 'intervened' which was exactly what govt did to make sure Nigerians got fuel at the price they got it rather than the actual high price it would have been sold by NNPCL.
It's safe to say the FG subsidized fuel for Nigerians.

That is for one house, not for mass adoption.

The truth is, no part of Nigeria is ready for electric cars at all. It would require as I said an improvement in generation of power and an improvement in the grid to be able to carry millions of electric cars on the charge.

Electric cars are even beyond the reach of many Nigerians, plus we don't have enough people trained to repair and fix them

As for solar....for one house, it would cost millions. For mass electricity...not possible. To generate even 2000mw of power would require a large area of land, to be covered with nothing but solar power...and it would cost money, and it can't catch all the sunlight..and then remember we have rainy season all the time.

We are not ready. Even if we get ;enterpreneur....most won't be able to afford it.

[quote author=Bosman17 post=134393670]When he said subsidy was gone, you thought it would be immediate… if that was the case we would have been buying petrol at 1k+ since then but stayed at N600 who do you think was paying for the rest? Now it has been fully deregulated… this is not news please!!![/quote

Please where is that your village, so that I can go and buy petrol at 600 naira. Petrol was sold for as much as 1300 naira and even now it is being sold at close as 1000 naira now. The mass you are mocking with this your sycophancy words, will curse you and it will stick to you and your generations.
