A tragic incident occurred on the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway this afternoon as a passenger bus heading to Lagos from Abeokuta caught fire, resulting in the deaths of most passengers.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus suddenly burst into flames while in motion, trapping many inside. Rescue efforts were hampered by the intensity of the fire, leaving several passengers burned beyond recognition. However, in a shocking twist, the driver managed to escape with injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, emergency services are working to identify the victims and contact their families.
