Lagos state is the closest to the refinery, hence it will be cheaper,

South west states are closer to Lagos, hence the cost of transporting will be cheaper than the remaining region.

Everything should not always be about tribe and ethnicity to you

Bigotry and tribalism is one of the major reasons that deprived Nigeria from achieving greatness. Fortunately, it was largely limited to government but it has now reared its ugly head in the private sector.

Business and tribalism/bigotry never works together, especially in a capitalist society Nigeria claims to practice.

Dangote in collaboration with MRS released their fuel price template recently, but anyone that passed through school will feel disgusted at the template and the brazen bigotry!

Since the so-called subsidy removal, NNPCL will release its price template and it will be logical based on economics. Lagos will be cheapest, followed by SW region, then SS, SE, NC, NW and finally NE in that order. The reason is simple, the farther a region is from Lagos (the entry point) the more costly fuel will be.

So, Dangote/MRS should explain to Nigerians, particularly those of us from SE and SS why their fuel will be cheaper in far distant places like Sokoto, Maiduguiri, Kafanchan, Potiskum or Kano than nearby places like Benin, Warri, Onitsha, Portharcourt, Aba, or Uyo?

The only logical explanation is that Dangote/MRS are subsidising fuel in the North while exploiting those in SS and SE. This is a perfect example of robbing Peter to pay Paul and it should be condemned.

It is within the right of people in SS and SE to reject this wickedness and unfair treatment. We should rather patronise NNPCL that follows normal business factors and boycott those that rob us.

Clearly your moniker exposes your intent on this forum. If not for such idiocy, one wonders why you forgot that your SS comprises of citizens, including the same Igbos, that your senseless moniker chose to insult.

Maybe your own SS ends in Edo state (apologies to the decent people of Edo state), and does not permit you to know that there are Igbo towns and communities in Delta and Rivers states. You do not know that higher fuel costs affect everyone in the two regions mentioned.

Tell us which region is safer than the other. Tell us which region is free from one crisis or deadly crime. Tell us how your own state is not hostile to its citizens, not to talk of others.

Go an increase fuel costs there. Who knows if you need the job of a petrol attendant and you cannot find one yet.

The reason why Dangote is able to do this without minding any backlash is because he did so with cement and got away with it. And again, he is aware that the APC government and the Lagos ibadam express way mercenary press, will find funny reasons to support this. This practice has been going on since the end of the war. It is the same with electricity tariffs, tolls on highways and others. South East and the South South pay more. Same with foodstuffs. If you complain, their Internet lapdogs will call you a tribalist.

It is also partly because the former Eastern Nigeria doesn't have a rallying strong character to articulate/define these oppressive policies in a way the are easiky explained to the people. This will alert the easterners on the urgent need to push back. You remember when the likes of Okadigbo and Ojukwu were alive, they would have spurned a narrative to confront this. Nnamdi Kanu came close to having such commanding presence, but they managed to squash him. The east is being over punished and the North and the Southwest won't stop unless a heavy push back is initiated by the easterners.
