Ruke1989:Not sure there is a deep water port there. Onne is not deep enough. And what is the traffic. These people want to make money too. |

Ruke1989:All these security issues, rampant kidnappings and occasional political instability in the Niger Delta and other SE states are not helping these regions in terms of attracting significant foreign investments. Lagos has learned to adequately managed these events. Most of the youths involved in these crimes and politicians/persons perpetrating these things should understand that they’re only creating a cycle of generational problems for those regions. |

DeLaRue:How do you reconcile both bolded statements? Industrial parks situated in free trade zones were part of what powered Singapore, China, Malaysia and now Vietnam's industrialisation. Why should the wheel be reinvented? |

PressMyButton:As usual, I am surprised. This guys are Muslim from Muslim dominated country. So Muslims are no more terrorists? Why double standard. Maybe the park would be located in the north because of Sharia. Anywhere you see Muslim, run, that's what they say in southern Nigeria especially on this nairaland. So why is this a development we need to pray for? Banza kowai. Anyway Islamaphobic tendencies will kill some people for this nairaland. |

Ruke1989:It is the investors that will make a choice of the Ports to use. Federal Government will only provide an investment friendly environment. Some of my friends that are into Shipping and Import / Export business travel to Cotonou, Lome and Tema (Ghana) to clear goods because some foreign shipping agencies don't ship to Nigeria. You cannot blame them, they decide where they want to do business. I know that is the reason some foreign shipping agencies have ports of operations in Nigeria. |

Can a Nigerian operator propose to build an industrial park at Dubai’s port and will leadership of Dubai allow a foreign entity to do so? Your answers can be found in the questions. |

AMKAG66:The political atmosphere in Lagos is unstable and unsuitable for investment considering the last election that went brutal with thugs beating up suspected Igbo voters, the disgrace and forced eviction of ambode from office by APC political cult, GAC and gun wielding DSS storming the state house of assembly in recent time to evict meranda amidst other anti democratic stunts in Lagos. The widespread thuggery, high profile kidnapping cases such as that of Evans the billionaire kidnapper and the fouani brothers kidnapped operate in lagos, Badoo cult groups, omo onle syndrome and many uncountable criminal tendencies. International organised crime offices now operate in Lagos for example a Chinese company with over 700 fraudsters arrested by EFCC recently. These all makes Lagos bad for business compared to the more peaceful south south |
