Osun To Procure ₦‎7 Billion Vehicles For Adeleke’s 37 Advisers by press9jatv(op): 6:30am On Mar 05, 2025
Amidst the lingering economic crisis facing the country, the Osun State Government intends to splash N6.996 billion to purchase Toyota Fortuner SUVs (2023 Model) for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 37 Special Advisers.

A review of the state’s 2025 fiscal docuement showed that the amount is bigger than the total capital expenditure for the state’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security which stands at N5.890 billion for the 2025 .

According to SaharaReporters, a breakdown of this figure shows that each special adviser is expected to receive a Toyota Fortuner worth an average of N189 million.

Similarly, the Ministry of Water Resources has a capital expenditure budget of N6.077 billion, which is lower than the N6.996 billion earmarked for vehicle purchases. This allocation comes despite reports of severe water scarcity in the state.

OSUN DEFENDER had earlier reported that residents of Iree, the host community of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, recently lamented chronic water shortages.

A student, Adekunle Samsudeen, who resides in the Oke Glo area, expressed frustration over the dire situation.

“Water scarcity is everywhere in Iree. Even waking up at 5:00 AM does not guarantee access to water because people have already crowded the few available sources. The boreholes in my area are mostly non-functional, and the few working ones require electricity to pump water, but the power supply in Iree is unreliable ,” he said.

Meanwhile, the capital expenditure budgets for key educational institutions in the state are significantly lower than the funds allocated for the advisers’ vehicles: Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke: N931 million, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree: N1.3 billion, and Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun: N2.1 billion.

The capital expenditure for the Primary Health Care Development Board was N209 million, while the capital budget for UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital was N1.2 billion.

See the rate at which Adeleke is spending Osun money on frivolities here. I hope you don see it clearly. This same man is busy looting the treasury too. We will all see how he will escape defeat in 2026 governorship election 🗳. Adeleke is a clueless goner.

Supplementary Budget: Tinubu to spend N6.9bn on vehicles, First Lady’s Office to get N1.5bn cars

President Bola Tinubu has proposed to spend over N6.9 billion on procurement of vehicles for the State House, with the Office of the First Lady getting N1.5 billion for new cars.

This is contained in the Supplementary Budget Tinubu sent to the National Assembly for approval.

It would be recalled that the President sent a N2.17 trillion Supplementary Budget to the National Assembly for approval.

The government plans to send N2.9 billion on Sport Utility Vehicles, SUVs, for the Presidential Villa and another N2.9 billion on replacing the cars in the pool.

This proposed expenditure is coming at a time when Nigerians are still protesting the decision of the National Assembly to procure N75 billion worth of vehicles.

Some young persons had held protests in Lagos and Abuja over the planned spending by the lawmakers at a time when Nigerians are facing a tough economic situation.

In the proposed supplementary budget, the government is planning to spend N28 billion on the State House. In addition, the government is planning to spend N12.5 billion on the Presidential a6ir Fleet.

Even at 100m per vehicle, that's 3.7 billion for 37 vehicles, so I wonder the types of cars they're procuring, maybe na Lamborghini.

A state like Osun doesn't have money to waste on stupid luxury like that, but I don't blame him really, Oyetola too was a figure head governor. Osun state is on auto pilot!

If you are rich and wealthy through any means be it fraud or inheritance and you have no leadership experience at all, you can become a king, appointed a government official or be selected and elected as a leader in any political and highly placed government position in Nigeria.

26 March 2003
This Day (Lagos)

Lagos — Pension teachers in Lagos State under the aegis of Teacher Pensioners of Nigeria (TEPAN) have urged Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to review his stance on paying the harmonised three year old outstanding pension allowance or risk losing their votes.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of TEPAN, Mr. Ayodabo 'Lade, accused Tinubu of failing to pay the arrears to teachers on their correct pension grade since the year 2000, contrary to what was obtainable in other five States of the South-west controlled by the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

Waste of resources.

If cars are sssigned to positions as official cars, there will be no need to acquire new vehicles every time. After serving as an adviser, commissioner or minister, leave the car for the next person

Debt Profile: Data by DMO Validates Osun’s Success on Debt Management – Governor Adeleke’s Spokesperson
NEWS RELEASE

OSOGBO – 08/12/2024- Osunstate.gov.ng

The Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has said that data released by Debt Management Office has vindicated the Adeleke led administration on the debt profile of the state.

He added that as against the falsehood published by certain online news platforms and amplified by the All Progressives Congress (APC), State External Debt according to the DMO has reduced by 15% while Domestic Debt reduced by 42%.

Stating this in a statement issued on Sunday, Mallam Olawale Rasheed said that the Domestic debt of Osun was ₦148.37 billion as at December 2022 but reduced to ₦86.06 billion as at June 2024 while Foreign Debt as at December 2022 was $91.78 million but reduced to $78.17 million as at June 2024.

He said, “The truth remains that Osun State Debt profile has actually reduced under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the last two years. Data doesn’t lie and cannot be hidden.

“The Domestic debt of Osun was ₦148.37 billion as at December 2022 but it has now reduced to ₦86.06 billion as at June 2024. In the same manner Foreign Debt as at December 2022 was $91.78 million but it has now reduced to $78.17 million as at June 2024.

“What that means is that the Domestic debt of Osun reduced by 42% and also the External debt reduced by 15% within two years of our administration.
