John W. Fenton writes that "by the end of the 10th century, it was customary in Western Europe (but not yet in Rome) for all the faithful to receive ashes on the first day of the Lenten fast. In 1091, this custom was then ordered by Pope Urban II at the council of Benevento to be extended to the church |

Lol. Why do you always feel the need to lie? The Council of Benevento (1091)was too busy dealing with serious Church drama like simony, clerical marriage, to care about ashes. Its canons say nothing about Lenten ashes. Urban II’s papacy (1088–1099) was focused on rallying Europe for the First Crusade, not micromanaging forehead rituals. Haha Why does no surviving record of the Council of Benevento mention ashes, but does mention excommunicating priests who sold sacraments? The practice of ashes on its own predates Urban II by centuries. 8th-century penitential manuals ( Libri Poenitentiales) already describe ash rituals for Lent. By the 10th century, it was a localized tradition in places like Francia and England not a universal Church mandate. The standardization of Ash Wednesday was a 13th-century project, thanks to the Fourth Lateran Council (1215) under Pope Innocent III. Urban II’s alleged “order” is likely a mix-up. Do you have any idea? How come no contemporaneous chronicles like Gesta Francorum mention Urban II’s ash decree, but do hype his “Deus Vult” Crusade speech? 🤷🏼 The ash ritual was cribbed from Jewish penance practices (Esther 4:1, Job 42:6) and pagan mourning customs. The Church, as usual, slapped a “new and improved” label on recycled traditions. 😄 Early Christians used ashes for excommunication, not Lent. The shift to Lenten ashes was pure bureaucratic rebranding, nothing else. Carry out a proper research. |

MaxInDHouse:So you agree that the pagan gods that came before your Jewish deity facilitated your adoption of the Jewish god? |

MaxInDHouse:The belief in the Trinity emerged shortly after Jesus' death and resurrection. The doctrine of the Trinity was first formulated among the early Christians (mid-2nd century and later) and fathers of the Church as they attempted to understand the relationship between Jesus and God in their scriptural documents and prior traditions. So it's a mere theory no different from Darwin's theory of evolution. |

StillDtruth:You've been deceived! Trinity is an old pagan tradition that was stolen by the third century churches who changed many teachings of Christ! |

StillDtruth:you are confusing sometimes. So the Trinity is a mere theory to you. I don't want to argue but there is a level you won't get to if you don't believe in the Trinity. Just know that |

delkuf:The other declaration called the creed is still like the trinity. Thus, it is sufficient that I believe The Father, He Who sits on the Throne, I believe His Son, The LORD later known as Jesus Christ and He Who sits on His Father's Right Hand and I believe in The Holy Spirit. And These 3 are One and Threegether, they rule over heaven and earth. That is all. |

delkuf:It is save for the part that I acknowledge and respect the fact that they are not the same and equal as people say. I understand that they mean the same and equal in terms of their joint rule and function like husband and wife where we husbands say "whatever my wife tells you, know that I am also telling you the same". So, they are not wrong to say they are the same. However, when push turns to a shove, I believe that it is right to respect that they are not really the same exactly how we know that even though husbands and wives are the same, the husband and the wife are not. It is known the husband's power and authority is greater than the wife and the wife submits to the husband. Which is why if the husband says one thing and the wife says another, the husband's say is the one that prevails because God had made him The king of that house. Same here. The Father is the King Most High, and He gave Rule to His Son, The LORD, to be "our God". Then, I decline to not talk much about The Holy Spirit for ii do not want to offend, for both Father and Son are Holy, so Whose Holy Spirit is in operation? I do not answer neither do I care to know the answer, however, I submit to the rule of The Holy Spirit. So these are things I appreciate and have in mind and border I will reach on this issue. But I will never go beyond the bounds and I humbly recommend to everyone who fears God not to cross it. And this is where we can see that Jws are devils like atheists for like Satan and Eve, they do not have respect boundaries. |

MaxInDHouse:I saw it the first time, and as you see, like the rest of the world, we have all pinpointed the past story so we automatically know that that your book is a Lie which you people created to Lie this Lie especially as no one else, even today's storyians did not find such a connection. So this is clear proof that you people Lie then fabricate books to help you maintain your Lies. And that is why there is no difference between you Jws, atheists and Satanists. |
