I believe importation will die a natural death if the momentum of local refinishing is increased and with this price war ongoing the importers will not likely will abandon their business |

The local refiners should reduce their pump price to 500 naira in that way importation will be reduced. If importation create competition so be it. |

These people are the real problem of the Nigerian oil sector. Why importing to sell expensive price of 950, while buying local is far cheaper at 865? What kind of business is that of there's nothing they're are trying to achieve. I'll advice Dangote to be more careful in safeguarding his refinery because this people can sabotage his productions as they've done to the NNPC all these years. |

Na only NNPc dey import cos they have free Forex to play with... But I thought port Harcourt and warri refineries are working, so what R they refining there? Corruption I guess, and a bit of Nepotism and Propaganda |

Darkjudge24:As long as importers have foreign refineries, it will never die. The government must set quality standards to the E10 level. This will end import into Nigeria |

We are not ready in this country. The senate is busy with sexual scandals flying with hired protesters protesting what's not. I said it thar that ph n warri Refinery production is some how not true. Look at the volume of refined products birthed at the ph seaport. This speaks volume. NNPCL is a disgrace to the Nigeria people. And an embarrassment to oil n gas sector. Give local refining a chance. |

I believe Dangote is not just reducing petrol prices for Ramadan purposes. One may argue that Cement is not a consumer product the like of PMS, but never noticed reduction in cement prices. I have a strong feeling it’s to deal with these importers, and probably make them sell at losses or at least very low margins. Personally, I agree with promoting local content in this case. Just makes no sense to continue to import a product originally exported from Nigeria. |

It's a double edged sword In one breath, importation is not good for local manufacturing efforts In the other side if it, lack of importation can lead to monopoly and we know shylock and his methods |

adenigga:You're very stupid detailed advertorial in The PUNCH on Wednesday quoting tanker vessels’ movement into Nigerian ports showed that fuel importers utilising scarce foreign exchange brought in over 5.01 billion litres of petrol and 1.37 billion litres of diesel between October 2024 and November 2025. |
