Just imagine what one man pays in taxes! That's why the government gives him everything he needs to succeed.

Dangote is a national asset, unlike the drug trafficking liabilities we call 'billionaires' from those five plots of erosion-ravaged land. grin
are you a national asset like dangote?

A company pays this much in taxes. A Nigerian own conglomerate for that matter.

Yet we have some people that believe that for Nigeria to develop, we need FDIs.
only a handful of Nigerians have the idea and are wealthy enough to finance the business ideology, hence the talk about fdi. However corruption has played its part like vdm exposed how the BOI refused to give a certain individual the necessary support required to kick start his business.

Yes. Although, the worth of citizens varies. Every law-abiding and patriotic Nigerian is a national asset, while those who tarnish the country's reputation are liabilities.

How will you describe Freeway? When the government gives one man a monopoly as the lone source for the following items

Sugar
Cement
Rice
Flour
Indomie
Energy (add MRS also from the North)

For the refinery, a free supply of Crude means complete net profits. By the way, that so-called refinery isn't producing anything. The Northerners are taking that whole country to the woodshed. How Northerners managed to acquire 85% of the country's oil wells is beyond me. If memory serves me right, I think someone from the North has always been head of the NNPC and INEC. I am just pointing out the obvious to you. Before you start thinking and setting out attacking the Igbo people I ain't no Igbo, I am a Yoruba man, alright.

did you pay N402.3b in tax to the government?

Nigerians paid such huge money through Dangote. Tax burden is on us,no company bears it.
That's not new nor is it news. The point here would rather be the comparison between Dangote and other Nigerian companies, most of whom find all manner of ways to avoid paying their taxes.
Re: Government Rakes In ₦‎402.3 Billion Tax From Dangote In 2024 by mctech(m): 3:49pm On Mar 07, 2025
That's the only thing they know. Tormenting local businesses and individuals to pay taxes, bills and dues which they will later steal.

I was going to do massive catfish exportation to Europe two years ago but the rate DHL gave me (N5000 per kilo) was a sure road to loss.

The money my partner spent on raising about 5000 pieces of catfish was wasted.

Customs too are given increasing revenue targets each year which they meet even in Q3.

If export levies and other parameters had been favourable, many Nigerians will be earning foreign currency, especially through mini exportation.

But na lie. They just spin out kangaroo policies.

When FDIs declared profits and demand for forex, federal government borrows from multilateral organizations like World Bank, IMF, AfDB, Afreximbank, Chinese Eximbank etc to pay obligation.

I am not a prophet.
But I am never wrong when I say "There is always an idiot hanging around every thread on Nairaland".

You said the refinery is not working, in the same paragraph you said he gets free crude Please tell us, is Dangote drinking the "free crude oil?"

And No your memory is not serving you right I don't even think you have enough brain for a memory sir. They have been 12 INEC chairmen since 1999 and only 2 have been from the North...

This is one of those whose brains were created by angels on apprentice...

I have stopped listening to wildings like you a long time ago. You make me feel sad.
Nigeria deserve to have better citizens.
Not all these things hanging around calling themselves citizens.

He says they are giving Dangote free crude oil.
Where do you animals crawl out from?
Unlike you, I have a personal stake in that so-called Refinery because I am a bond holder, yeap, I bought $8000 bond Class A. I know for a fact that the refinery is not producing any PMS as of right now. Diesel is another matter. I read the prospectus sent to my address as a bond holder regarding that refinery. As a mouthpiece on the internet, I can say you are surely earning the money, they are paying you. Go and do a look up regarding the financing of that Refinery. Dangote isn't spending $20B of his own money. Your NNPC owns over 30% of the refinery. 60% by bond holders like me, 5% by banks.

Did you read where I said: 'the worth of citizens varies'? Some citizens contribute more significantly to the nation's well-being than others. In the case of Dangote, his contributions to Nigeria's economy and reputation far outweigh those of the average citizen, including myself.

You have crawled back out....

Quick one
How exactly is the refinery not producing and at the same time the refinery is getting free crude oil...

You know nothing about the oil and gas industry young man , you hold no bonds and nothing, don't come here and talk trash.
You are talking to some who has LWD units and MWD units.
You don't know the first thing in the industry.
Nobody gets free crude oil, know that for 1.
How much crude goes to NNPCL that she will supply Dangote free crude? are you even joking?

Partner, here is where I am coming from. In the open market, if the price of crude is $ 70 per barrel and a refinery has a locked-in price contract for $20 per barrel. That refinery is practically getting the crude free. In the abstract, maybe free is a strong word but business wise that is free
