Since she can confide in you, press her further to give you details of the job she got in Cairo; offer letter, which would reveal nature of work, organization hiring her, etc. If she can't, my brother she is on a gamble journey.


Everybody migrating abroad on a work visa always have an offer letter specifying your job role, salary/wage breakdown and other work terms. If she cannot provide all these and still insist then you can let her go but make it known to her and possibly confide in someone else that you are not in support of her move.

Dubai is better if she has professional experience. Even Qatar and Saudi Arabia can be good as well. But being professionally qualified is essential. Those are the best places to work as a Black professional in the Arab World. For those in the oil and gas industry, everywhere in the GCC is fine and good.

This is not entirely true, please. Ask for their professional experience and educational qualifications. A Nairalander got employed by a finance firm in Dubai and later migrated to Canada. He had a CFA qualification while working in Nigeria. There are many Nigerian oil workers in the Gulf States.

I’m careful not be the reason she doesn’t take a chance at life.

I know a lady that is begging people to arrange money for her to come back home. Where she works, she had paid all the agreed money. But every month they told her they are renewing her contract. Tell your cousin not to do such a maaad mistake. I also know someone that did and came back with nothing. It's a modern slavery.
