Obviously a deliberate attempt to malign the state of the countrys economy. Blame your politicians who go to the same Chatham House every election cycle to grovel and yearn for validation. They are the ones who put that organisation on a pedestal from where the operators look down and devalue Nigerias image and international standing. It started with the APC. If their presidential candidates were not flying to Paris, they would be flying to London, just to take fresh commands from their handlers over there, after every stage of the presidential tussle. It is as if these guys who were born during the era of colonialism are not aware that colonialism has ended. You present yourself so cheaply to others, and folks like this will treat you and your people like you all don't count. |

They are cursed and MAD. That’s why their professors are now picking shifts in factories and care homes after we Nigerians stopped coming to UK for their overhyped and overpriced Masters degrees. I paid about £16,000 for their overhyped Masters. Thank God it’s in IT, I for dey weep like those that did nonsense Business and social sciences |

It's common for western people to do this. It is part of their colonial legacy and the only people who can show their best pictures are Nigerians themselves. They too have bad pictures of themselves but they don't post it on Twitter and Nairaland to fight one tribe over the other. For Nigerians abroad, you must be familiar with the description of anything Africa. Thank God for social media, they still describe us with safari and wildlife. Anytime it's Africa, they like showing us the worst of us, hunger, death, famine and animals. I am not saying we need to sugarcoat the truth but they make sure that the image they show you is the worst so that you condition yourself to see yourself as the worst. If you also want to respect yourself, treat yourself like someone who should be respected. Don't be going to Chatham House to campaign for Nigerian elections. You are only making a fool at yourself. Oyinbo go chop your money if you want to look for their recognition. At your back, they will abuse you like David Cameron did when he didn't off his mic. Have some respect for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve-RdkxVemo?feature=shared Your national heroes fought for independence from the British. You carry your house matter go meet them. Tell me a slave without telling me. |

People were surprised when UAE authorities told people not to take pictures of their flooded cities. I wish our politicians can fix the basics of life but that's a tall order. It's sad. It's the beautiful pictures of abroad that makes people want to japa. They fantasize on digital reality but when they get to the abroad, na real shock

That's how we project ourselves, and they help us magnified it. Until those people stop running to Chatham house for political campaign, they will not stop to finish us. |

Why must we always seek their validation. A Nigerian organization should also post bad picture of them. Shikena |

As someone above me said, it is so embarrassing the way many Nigerian politicians seek whiteman's affirmation so desperately. Nigeria 's leading election contenders will each travel to a foreign country with a retinue of more than 20 hangers-on to outline their plans for Nigeria without putting half as much effort to explain those plans to the electorate in Nigeria. The slave mentality is so cringe worthy. Politicians from South Africa, Indonesia, India, Ethiopian, Malaysia don't do that before every national elections. The UK is an old, debt-ridden, clapped out country that is on long -term, almost irreversible decline. A country on the verge of needing IMF intervention. Why have Nigerian leaders feel the need to travel there to get affirmation ![]() |

What do you expect? We Nigerians are quick to turn against each other whenever the opportunity arises, bantering online. There have been worse countries than ours, but we just find it easier to mess up our self-image online and still expect people to hold us in high regard. |

It's the same thing they did with the Ukrainian and Russian. They kept on projecting media content that Ukraine was winning and Russians are bad. I guess they now understand the world knows better |

They won't see banana island and other posh places to post.. it's always the pictures depicting Nigeria as "struggling" these Western media like to post as if their own countries overseas don't have their ghettos. |

Tinubu and his incompetent team have turned us to objects of ridicule. His show of shame when he visited Chatham house before the election sef is enough disgrace. He couldn't answer any question that were thrown at him. It was El Rufai that was answering all questions on his behalf. Cause Tinubu was clueless.

I see nothing wrong with that picture... Those are business people carrying out their legitimate business. This is not an unusual setting in any major Nigerian city. I haven't checked the latest ranking but Nigeria is in the top 5 list of biggest economies in Africa. And if this is what puts are at that position and earns her money then what is there to complain about? The way I see it it's actually the people complaining about this picture that have a problem to be validated and portrayed in a way they are not. So much noise about nothing. So which pictures should Chatham have actually used. The world trade center? Because we want to copy and be like them. Instead of building on our unique identity. This one even portrays a unique identity! |

Western media always paint Africa bad with their reportage. Why can't they show picture of one of our big industries like dangote refinery to symbolize Nigeria economy? .. but I don't want to blame them too much. Nations in this modern era are using their national media to propagate and promote their country's image. America for instance has Times, CNN and VOA. Britain has BBC, Germany has DW, the Arabs have Al Jazeera, China has CTN, but Nigeria has NTA and Radio Nigeria ![]() |

The British built crude oil pipeline immediately chief Anthony Enahoro moved motion for independence. Chief Enahoro moved motion for independence around 1953,the British completed their pipeline in 1955 to take crude oil from Nigeria to UK via niger republic to Morocco to Spain to UK. When they finished their wickedness, they now gave us flag independence with the servile caliphate as care taker of their business. They take our resources They frustrate our efforts for good leadership through coups and regime change. And they mock us. Because we are dumb and silly |

Not different from how Nigerian Media mostly owned by Yorubas are portraying the Igbos in bad light just to confirm their hatred towards Igbos. The other one ( Reuben Abati) shamelessly claimed that other tribes were not permitted to buy land in Igbo land. Blatant lies. |
