Nairaland family in the auto section help advise me about this car Nissan Altima.

I'm about to buy my first car ever. For a start I want to buy a Nigerian used car, and there's a Nissan Altima that I saw posted on Facebook Marketplace. It is within my budget of 2m. Toyota Corolla is the car I initially wanted to buy but the current prices of Nigerian used Corollas are above my budget for now.

This Altima is my second choice. I just need a ride that can take me to my work place within the city and also other towns in my state.

Is Altima good in terms of fuel efficiency, availability of parts and ease of maintenance?Does this model have a recurring issue that I should bear in mind?

Do not buy a car without going along with a professional honest mechanic to inspect the car before buying. I do professional computerised inspection service. Contact me on 08167469103.

The price of this car is more than 2m for registered but kindly be careful do your due diligence before making any transfer. Once money change hands it's difficult to retrieve.

That's 5th gen, 2013 to 2018 model for 2M locally used. Price too cheap.
The car uses CVT instead of automatic transmission , one major failure point and can cause you sorrow and a whole lot of expenditure. Check transmission very well if you must buy and use specified CVT fluid else it's gone
The electrical connections and sensors are also another area that's sensitive.
Don't take to areas that have flood.

Fuel economy is good. I believe this is 4 cylinder even the v6 is fairly ok.
You equally need to know how to diagnose faults using scanners and don't give to any trial and error roadside mechanic, else the car will turn to junk in no time

Buy the car and enjoy but first... Bend down and check under of d car very well for oil leaks. Check d engine seating and top. Run full scan with obd2 and avoid inexperience mechanic... Enjoy ur car but scan to mk sure the O2 sensor s fully working. Very low fuel consumption..
