Why can't he put himself up for elections, to at least test his popularity, and then as soon as he steps foot in Abuja (I assume he will win), propose a motion for referendum and then secession?

I don't agree with his style of agitation and I had also hope he would have used his popularity to push for credible election in the southeast and keep the governors and senators on their toes but then Nigeria made him the monster you think he is and till date they have nothing lawful to hold against him.

I myself want them to release him but sadly he offended the wrong people and we can only pray he comes out alive.

His problem is he gets angry too easily, he could have used the goodwill he had at one point for so much political capital.
