Mrfeel:People like this are the ones that be bombarding the office. They travel based on luck ... when luck is never the odds in one's favour. These people should never be complaining when they realize luck wasn't on their side. The ones that travel and manage ...are almost always the ones who did their homework before travelling. Personal experience. Went to pick up a Nairalander tourist at the airport ... visiting for the first time ...she had done her homework very well ... got her description... spotted her with two other females in conversation ... same flight. We greeted...and she said bye to the other two . So I asked her where are they going ... maybe in the same direction and I can give them a lift...since they travelled light. She insisted let's go. So I asked them myself. Would you believe they had no address? ...they came based on luck? ... they had a few phone numbers.... one person picked up. The person doesn't know them too well ...and definitely wasn't expecting them. I handed the phone for them to sort it out ... the convo was very short ...I collected my phone and I bounced . Then I understood why the one was telling me let's go ... and leave them standing. I always wondered what happened to them. Not saying people shouldn't travel ... but do your homework very well ... in this Trump dispensation ... this has to be the worst .... ever. |

All of you insulting her and saying to try your luck first. I really pray you get that visa and come to UK. Body go tell you. It’s not a curse, the environment is toxic. I know a guy that works 18 hours per day (2 jobs) just to break even. You think it’s hustling? Hahaha. Please apply for that visa and come join. |

franchasng:I am in the UK and I relocated via study route and I am done with my studies and working at the moment. In fact, I relocated September 2023 and just like everywhere else, it is normal for a person to struggle once you relocate to a new environment, even while still in Nigeria, relocate from Port Harcourt to Lagos, you'll struggle, relocate from Ibadan to Abuja, you'll struggle but the manner in which you guys make comparisons is always amazing. Yes, I struggled as a student but when I found my way while still studying I could make between £400 - £500 in a week. UK isn't always the way you guys portray it. If you don't know how a country works, you don't come online to condemn it. If you feel a country is all rosy and you carry such ideology that everything will be juicy instead of studying the system, you'll suffer and this is peculiar to both UK and Nigeria. UK is a working system unlike Nigeria. There are guys that make £1k in a week because they've found their ways in the system. UK is a great place to hustle, ignore what people are saying trying to discourage others, just manage your expenses, don't over do yourself and you'll be OK and even save better but when you jump into the system, na sorry be your name. If you have a means to Japa, abeg, Japa. It's a battle for survival, and survival is a must. #My1cent# |

Is it in Nigeria that people are not living in regret? Simply say, many Nigerians who are illegal immigrants abroad are living in regret. Highlight that phrase illegal Nigerian immigrants. Let me hear word jor. |

EmperorIsaac:I have never seen anyone abroad with such regret though. Maybe few ones who are doing extremely well back home and the abroad dream does not meet their expectations. This category of people can easily afford to relocate back home. My husband for instance works with an oil firm in Nigeria and has refused to come stay permanently in Canada with us due to unknown circumstances and that is understandable. But at least, we have secured a future for our kids by moving them here. So much gains moving abroad to be sincere. |

Forumites:Ask them how difficult it has been to renew their stay papers. Find out after spending so much for masters degree why they are still doing menial jobs. Find out how they have buried themselves with extra shifts just to earn enough to pay bills. Care jobs are like gold now. Nobody is persuading anyone not to japa but what she is saying is that bitter kola is not as sweet as it sounds. |

pansophist:You don start again. Are we talking about illegal immigrants here? She is pushing a narrative of people that migrated illegally. If you migrate legally and still suffering abroad, such a person is nothing but a lazy fág. So don't come here and be saying what we already know. Only fools migrate illegally to another man's land and be lamenting day and night. |

Ofodirinwa:Even if it's true the focus should be on those living in depression and regrets inside Nigeria their homeland. Why are we so fixated on those who japa? At least they did something by helping reduce the burden at home. |

The only Nigerians she might be referring to are Nigerians without legal status. Trust me, if you have your papers in a country like America, the sky is your starting point, unless you are lazy. I came to America 10 years ago. Today, I am a citizen, married to a Doctor and have 2 kids. We own our home, have a couple of investment properties here. My wife has her own practice and I work for one of the top 5 tech companies. This was after multiple certifications. For the record, I studied computer science in Nigeria. My wife and I make a combined $700k a year. We are not frivolous with our money. We have a couple fo Nigerian kids, about 10 of them, that we sponsor their education. The plan is to sponsor then until they are done with university. All of this in just 10 years. Like I said earlier, unless that person doesn't have papers or are just lazy. If you work hard and are strategic with your plans, you will make it good in America. |

Us police has gotten Donald Trump's order to shoot you dead, the police will be promoted immediately, na that time you will understand that truly Nigerian police are your friend |

life abroad is never a bed of roses. Just light they see steadily over there is being paid for in full. Work life is too intense even until old age. Africa has a lot of advantages over many benefits overseas. The word “ contentment is the wealth of nature “ is a fact.! |

Afolue:Too many generalization. Is life in Nigeria a bed of roses? Where abroad are you talking about specifically? What "work" roles are you talking about? Steady light is not cheap in Nigeria either. Where in Africa are you talking about and what are those advantages? Contentment is not limited to African soil, you could also be contented abroad and many Nigerians abroad are very very contented. |
