Its better to see Nairaland as a forum for vibrant debate, African debates are not as gentlemanly as European or American debates.

The people we call miscreants are just passionate about their political platform the same way I'm passionate about Obidient movement.

I disagree with probably 90% of the politics site people...APC and PDP supporters included. If I were to be successful in getting all of them banned, the politics site won't make sense. It would be boring and useless.

You should not let what other people say on the web bother you.

Back in the day, when I used to debate atheists in the USA online who used to think that I was backward because I believed in God, I did not call for them to be removed from the online fora we were on. Just simply enjoyed the banter, and occasionally was able to even learn something and correct a few misomers or two.

Some even say the problem started in 2010. Two things happened then

1. Internet access became more widespread nationwide. In 2008, MTN introduced home internet in the Lagos area. By 2011, it was nationwide. As a result far more people had access to the web from their homes, instead of going to a cafe to browse for two hours...

2. The issues around GEJ's sucession, which exposed a lot of the tribalist issues in our country.
