A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu owns the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Igbokwe’s claim followed the defection of a founding father of the ruling APC and former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

El-Rufai, in a statement on Monday, announced his decision to dump the APC for the SDP, citing the inability of “those who currently control and run the APC to acknowledge, much less address, the unhealthy situation of the party.”

Reacting to the development, Igbokwe, in posts on his official Facebook page, urged those nursing presidential ambitions in 2027 under the SDP to understand that Tinubu owns the party.

“If indeed SDP is still alive and kicking in Nigeria, then know the truth and have inner peace: PBAT is the owner. Ignore him to your own peril.

“I remember our SDP of 1993 and the late Chief MKO Abiola,” he wrote.

In another post, the APC chieftain said President Tinubu “was a Senator under SDP in 1993. Go and investigate and verify. He is the owner of SDP.”

Hell Rufai decision to move SDP is the most political suicide a notable politician like that have committed. He didn't move to NNPP, at least to be relevant, even though I know that the over bloated ego of Kwankwaso would never allow him into the party.
They are all looking for where they will become kings and turn the party to their personal estate and use it to negotiate to run for vice presidential seat position.

The short man devil is now politically irrelevant.
