Fake news!

It looks like some people are still upset about the judicial system and the outcome of the election that brought Bola Ahmed Tinubu to power. Now, they’re spreading fake news, claiming that the Supreme Court upheld a death sentence for someone named Sunday Jackson for killing an armed herdsman.

There’s absolutely no truth to this story, it’s just another attempt to stir up emotions and push a false narrative. Always double-check your sources before believing or sharing such claims.
Let's hear the true version.
I'm curious

Shey we dey mad 4 dis country?
Someone came to your farm, tried to kill you, you overpowered him collected his cutlass and killed him?
D matter went to court and court said, you should have ran or allowed the man to kill you instead..... Shey we dey mad for dis country? The presidency better grant this man amnesty.... So if armed robber enter my huz now, ino fit shoot d werey?

I have many fulani friends growing up and one of my lecturers but is a medical Dr is also a fulani man, who grew up in the bush and none of them will hear this matter or judgement and support it.... No sane individual will hear dis matter and conclude it's a fair hearing.... Make I gather small money comut dis country... I Don tire angry
My brother - in as much as I fully understand your position, I want to remind you sincerely of what a NORTHERN lady said who decamped from APC to join PDP before the last presidential elections- She said -

"I asked Tinubu when we met in London, what plans do you have to tackle insecurity , because my constituents are in IDP camps all over the country and I need to get an affirmation from you that you will tackle insecurity"

She said Tinubu told her - He (Tinubu) will do nothing about it because he doesn't want to get killed. Please go watch that video again!

This is why Tinubu's supreme court upheld the death sentence of Mr. Jackson

I pray one day - these herdsmen mistakenly kill a white citizen of a western nation- like US or UK, them go hail

Someone killed a Fulani herdsman in self defense and you take him before a Fulani judge hoping for a fair trial? Have you ever seen a herdsman jailed or killed for all the myriads of murders they have carried out or are still carrying out? Have you ever seen islamists jailed for killing non Muslims and Christians? What happened to the guys that killed that kano woman? What about Deborah's killers? And those that killed the one doing evangelism in Abuja some time ago?
That should show you the kind of country we are living in. That's why Nnamdi kanu and his likes want out of the country. We are living a lie and Nigerians still have their heads buried in the sand like the Ostrich.

The law does not know sentiment. That is why Lady Justita wears a blindfold but if we talk, people who went to google law school will start to mention us upandan and start throwing insults that expose their hollow state of mind.

Wielding a weapon, be it a pen knife or a gun is a burden on the carrier and thus, the carrier or the “holder” as at any given time has the burden of thinking with a clear head and with the law as his foremost priority. Unfortunately, most people have been indoctrinated by western movies and believe that they can do like the protagonist of such movies or believe that they can act according to the rules of the western world not realizing that even some states in America have different rules and interpretations to said rules.

I remember how they came for my head when the whole Anambra EFCC saga happened and I tried to point out from a legal standpoint but all they could summarize was “self defense”. Now we have seen the position of the law on said self defense even from the apex court of the land.

As unfortunate as the ruling might be, all we can say is “As the court pleases” and hope that the young man is given a state reprieve by way of a pardon.

We rise.
You're not making sense. There is the principle of equal force. You cannot use a gun to defend yourself against a man wielding a stick. In this case he disarmed a man who wounded him and stabbed at him to save his life. The herdsman didn't even die on the spot.
This is where his lawyers f.cked up. Anything could have killed the herdsman including a virus on his way to the hospital. Best he was supposed to get since the judge apparently wanted to be stupid should be attempted murder or grievous bodily assault.

Note there are settled case laws for my assertion.

You see why Nnamdi Kanu calls Nigeria what he calls it

Leaving Nigeria is a task that must be achieved. You enjoy life better when you live in a sane and organized country, NOT the nonsense we see here.

This is to tell you that those behind all these terrorism attacks by Fulanis nicknamed "herdsmen attack" are high powered persons in government; little wonder why Nigeria army can never appear in any area being attacked by these terrorists, but once there are any form of resistance or retaliation by the community, boom! come and see the supremacy of the Nigerian army.

This is why they using every mechanism including international diplomatic formula to undo IPOB, because IPOB remain the only strong force to challenge them to total defit on a level play field.

They also know that at the independence of Biafra, we will stop the madness of Fulani and their banditry in maximum of six months into the decision.

By the time one follows this case critically, you would see a lot of bias in this reportage, because these days it seems we are more interested in media trials than facts, I don't agree with any of the stories saying a man is sentenced to death for self defense! It is not adding up, but I am going to research this case and get to the facts!

My prayer is that herdsmen issue will not cause civil war in Nigeria. I still don't see any reason why herdsmen are free to kill and others must not scratch their body. Let them stop taking their cows to people's farm.

Can't the ruling be appealed? .. and the judge be out under pressure? She and her family should be living in fear of their lives.

Nigeria can't criminalize self defense just to protect the violent fulani jihadists when the UN doesn't it's a call for total anarchy.

Hmmm Sentencing him to death is way too harsh. Though I must say without sentiment, that Jackson should have left him alone, immediately after subduing him, rather than killing him, such act reek of premeditated murder.
It seems you do not know who this devilish Fulanis are!!
Jackson leaving that guy would mean him forfeiting his farm forever, because that Fulani guy would go back home, return to the farm with his brothers in the night, destroy every single crop on that farmland, and kill every human being they meet around there.. I'm from the North, so I know how heartless those demons can be, people that can sack an entire community because of the death a COW, how much more of an attempt to kill them.

You be mumu.
Go and watch Arise documentary and interview on the case.

In fact, the judge said after the herdsman stabbed him in the leg, he could have just run away. The question is how? Someone languishing in pain already. See how senseless the Judge sounded. Right from time our judiciary system is fraud.
