My prayer is that herdsmen issue will not cause civil war in Nigeria. I still don't see any reason why herdsmen are free to kill and others must not scratch their body. Let them stop taking their cows to people's farm.

My brother - in as much as I fully understand your position, I want to remind you sincerely of what a NORTHERN lady said who decamped from APC to join PDP before the last presidential elections- She said -

"I asked Tinubu when we met in London, what plans do you have to tackle insecurity , because my constituents are in IDP camps all over the country and I need to get an affirmation from you that you will tackle insecurity"

The law does not know sentiment. That is why Lady Justita wears a blindfold but if we talk, people who went to google law school will start to mention us upandan and start throwing insults that expose their hollow state of mind.

Wielding a weapon, be it a pen knife or a gun is a burden on the carrier and thus, the carrier or the “holder” as at any given time has the burden of thinking with a clear head and with the law as his foremost priority. Unfortunately, most people have been indoctrinated by western movies and believe that they can do like the protagonist of such movies or believe that they can act according to the rules of the western world not realizing that even some states in America have different rules and interpretations to said rules.

I remember how they came for my head when the whole Anambra EFCC saga happened and I tried to point out from a legal standpoint but all they could summarize was “self defense”. Now we have seen the position of the law on said self defense even from the apex court of the land.

As unfortunate as the ruling might be, all we can say is “As the court pleases” and hope that the young man is given a state reprieve by way of a pardon.
