Best, simply just say my cousin. Then the pronoun that follows after that will give a clue about the gender in question.
"My cousin said he..."

Take your L. In some Naija cultures, there is no word for cousin, the OP used cousin sister to denote 2 things. A cousin who is like a sister.

This is one reason our children speak and write mostly wrong English. Because those they look up to and those who teach them are so poor in English language. And worse thing is they don't even realize they're wrong. Like the fellow you quoted. You could see his arrogance in trying to "correct" the right person. And many of these errors stem from people trying to "convert", not translate, their mother tongue into English language. Some try to transfer pidgin English to Queens English. And the mutilation of English language is on the increase in our schools.

Hmmm you people on nairaland and mixing it up, how will you be comparing Egypt with Oman have you ever set a journey with ur free mindset no carry what people are saying about the country just go there with your positive mindset and trust me everything will be fine and better.
