Even though it is true that the Ijaws are minority in Rivers state, I don't think kind of statement by Wike is a good one especially at this time.
The Ijaws will see this as threat to the existential relevance in Rivers state and may turn to an ethnic fight instead of a political one.
Even though that's what Wike may be trying to achieve so he can blame Fubara for causing crises, it's a really sinister thing to do as it would further embolden dominant tribes to relegate minorities to the backstage of governance.

Wicked is speaking some truth but once someone is already a governor, allow them to work for the people, if you don't want him to be given you should have picked the best of the best.

Since the crisis is now turning into an ethnic thing, finding a lasting resolution to it is likely to become more difficult and mutual hatred and suspicion among the ethnic nationalities may linger on even after Fubara's tenure in office.


Fubara was too quick to play the ethnic card by co-opting his tribal warlords in the ongoing conflict.

This might be true shaa, because even in akwaibom, annang/ Ibibio have sworn never to let an Oro man become governor. Not minding the fact that they are the 3rd largest ethnic group there and most of the mineral resources in which they get huge allocation from the FG reside there. They are marginalizing them like tomorrow no dey. They refuse to build the seaport in ibaka cos they think it will benefits Oro ethnic group more. It's really sad to belong to a minority
