Government played no roles in this. They only taxed us dedpite not providing the enabling environment. We light up our streets, sink our own boreholes, even had to install our own transformers then tarred our own streets and provided security. It was individual efforts |

Who verified these claims? Cairo has no verifiable GDP. When I ran a search on google, it returned Egypt GDP as $396bn. The report above failed to mention Cairo GDP. I don’t think there’s a way a country’s GDP will be lower than a city inside it. A search on google reveals that California has a GDP of $3.9trn while the US has a GDP of $27.72trn. California is a city in the USA and we see that the GDP is far lower to that of the country it’s in. |

mrvitalis:I suggest you take a refresher course in economics and learn the difference between nominal GDP and GDP ppp. Even our nominal GDP is far above what you quoted. Nigeria’s GDP (PPP) is over $1.4 trillion according to the world bank’s own figures and other reputable sources.

You're not successful as a leader if your vision is not passed on effectively to leaders after you. Tinubu envisioned a great Lagos, and successive administrations have done so well by pushing to achieve that vision. If you think Igbos develop Lagos, you're right in your own right. But you must admit that for Igbos to come and 'develop' Lagos, the environment for Igbo businesses to thrive was created by the leadership of the state. If it was easy, ask Igbo leaders to create such in one of its cities. I've said my own. If you like mastubate on this comment, I won't reply you! I have cum in peace ✌️ |

Good news, but we know why. FG assistance on a massive scale, - even aboki administrations invest in Lagos to keep the yorubas happy; 99% of Igbo rich people use Lagos due to infrastructural logistics. massive marketing by fg&sg&people (yorubas and every other); then the unnecessary hyping, above marketing. But it is still not freshening up, over hyped. Even this result might be potential gdp. No be nigeria and fraud again? Paperwork doings. |

mrvitalis:They're rooting for tinubu again ahead of 2027 despite his woeful performance. Awon propagandists . Let's assume the GDP figure was real. It's still an individual effort. Government provides nothing as they only tax us. The land they're supposed to give Dangote considering the tax he'll pay to state, they still collected millions of dollars from him and cleaned mouth, in a place they called FTZ, just imagine. Dangote had to expose them during the time he's being frustrated ahead of the refining of his patrol by the corrupt fellow who owns the malta blending facility. We tar our streets by ourselves, install our streetlight by ourselves , provide security, sink our own boreholes etc. They'd collect taxes, land use charge, radio and tv levies with nothing to show. I was in Thamesmead, UK ahead of Christmas to see a friend. I noticed some people were outside cleaning the river and trimming the flowers in an estate. I asked my friend, who pays them and he said he didn't even know. He said they came because Christmas was approaching and the estate needed to be prepared ahead for xmas, that the government sends them every year to do that, apart from the monthly cleanup. Here, they only collect our money with nothing to show. Anyway, na those outside lagos the propaganda go catch as usual. He should count lagos out of the states he'll win. |

The Crouching Tiger About To Pounce, On the Cusp of Something Special This is so heart -warming. One, it shows the innate resilience of the Nigerian economy. Two, the economic reforms of PBAT are yielding fruits. Lagos was 'lured' into the Nigerian project because of its development not otherwise. In fact, Lagos economic prosperity informed in no small measure the almagation of Nigeria in 1914, when much of Nigeria was collectively no more than a village square. Lagos had wheeled away from the pack in terms of development. Another thing the report showed is that people's purchasing power has improved, and things are looking up gradually. To those guys that opined that Nigeria's GDP was 199b USD, u need to know what GDP really means. When Nigeria rebases it, it will be somewhere in the north of 500 billion USD. It's not surprising that Lagos accounts for more than half of our GDP. For centuries, this small island has always a tour de force in economic terms, long before pretenders to the throne of Maximus unconscionably claimed they developed it with their vacuous commercial efforts. |

Factcheck0001:Don't mind them, they don't understand the meaning of development. They actually thought buy and selling of goods is the development but forgot it's the actual production. Yorubas produces and Igbos was used to market the product. If you don't give them products to sell, they are finished because they are not productive. |

Smartcitizen:There you go again just like I predicted. Who are your people committing suicide? Jonathan was borrowing to pay salaries and subsidies, Buhari was not only borrowing, he was also printing money so that ignorant people like you can buy rice at #18k per bag and fuel at #180. Little did you know that you were eating your future and those of your unborn children. You may like to read up on Argentina and Lebanon to see where Nigeria was heading before hard decisions were taken by this administration. Now, the economy is growing again and it's unlikely that Nigeria would default on its loans or go into recession at all in Tinubu's first four years. Even inflation has declined. Our global ratings are going up again. But like I said, someone like you would never understand since you can't see beyond the next plate of food |
