Please, how do I track where my passport is? The OIS website is requesting a tracking number and I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

My mum’s visa was approved yesterday in Lagos, and it still feels surreal. This was her second attempt we applied for B2 visa category for her and unlike the first time, everything happened so quickly. We got to the embassy, and in less than 20 minutes, she was done.

Here’s how the conversation went:

VO: Good morning.
Mum: Good morning! How are you doing?
VO:Why are you traveling to the U.S.?
Mum: To visit my daughter, she just had a baby.
VO: How long do you plan to stay?
Mum: Two months.
VO: How did your daughter move to the U.S.? Mum: She got married and relocated.
VO: Are you married? If so, why isn’t your husband traveling with you?
Mum: Yes, I’m legally married. My husband and I agreed that I should be the one to go, while he stays back with one of our children in Nigeria until I return.
VO: Are you planning to get any medical treatment while in the U.S.?
Mum: No, not at all.
VO:How many children do you have?
Mum: Six, but sadly, one recently passed on.
VO: How many of them are in the U.S.?
Mum: Just one. The rest are here in Nigeria.
VO: What do you do for a living?
Mum: I’m a retired teacher.
VO: Who is funding your trip?
Mum: My daughter the one I’m visiting.
VO: What does she do?
*Mum: She’s a nurse.
VO: How long has she been in the U.S.?
Mum: 8yrs.
VO: Is this her first child? If not, why didn’t you travel to see her when she had the first one?
Mum: No, this is her second child. She had her first in 2022, but my visa was denied back then.

At this point, the officer started typing, then suddenly excused herself for a moment. When she returned, she asked again:

VO: Are you sure you’re not going to the U.S. for medical treatment?
Mum: I’m very sure.

Then, the officer smiled and said, “I’ll be approving your visa. I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter.”

My mum smiled back and said, “Thank you so much.”

Thank you for the response. I tracked it there and saw it was issued 2 days ago. How do I know if it has reached OIS?

Also, is there a different pickup location for Dropbox applicants and those that attended an interview?

Yes I did, it was after the activation I was unable to login

To encourage anyone that is going through the "refused"/ 221g thing. I did my followup interview today and it was straightforward. They most likely have a few things to clarify. At least that was my experience. As long as you didn't overstay, commit a crime or give birth, you should be fine.

Please give us details on how you scheduled the interview. I remember that you were wondering what to do after you got the initial refusal, and now you have thankfully been given the visa. So did they reach out to you? Or were you able to book an appointment yourself? Please clarify. Thanks.

Please I am stuck at trying to book appointment date, each time I check I get a prompt of this error message that say “Currently there is no appointments available for the selected location”

I need to know if I’m doing something wrong or its a normal occurrence as I can see some are seeing dates on their profile.

I really appreciate a response please.

You should get an email from OIS. I got an email 2 days after issue. You will have the option to pick up from OIS or DHL. DHL is free. OIS is not.

Good morning everyone,very urgent please I need help concerning Avits, I have registered with my email address but still unable to to login, I have even changed my password many times but not able to login. The system keep saying password and username not correct. Kindly advise and assist on what to do.

so my passport is about expiring and am in the process of renewing it. however i want to book for IW, with my old passport. and get an early date. i want to be sure, it wont cause problems, when i get m,y new passport, with the IW date already scheduled

Hey folks,

My passport is ready for pickup, but I don’t live in any of the cities. Is it a must I have to pick it up or are there options for them to send it to my home address via DHL?

I don’t see any options when I try to book an appointment either premium or DHL/OIS locations

Any advice is welcome. I need the passport urgently as I need to apply for another visa to a different destination shortly.

I am yet to receive ab email to migrate to avits till now.

My interview date is fast approaching.

I have made several attempts to get support to help me all to no avail.

Sent several emails no response.

If I Try to use my email and password from the old portal to log into avits, it obviously says my record is not there.

Right now I don't know what else to do in this situation.

And by next month my payment receipt should be up to 1 year

Something that people have tried to reset things is to purposefully enter the wrong password three or four times, it will lock your account, you can then click forgot password, it should send you an email to reset the password and you should be able to login afterwards. Let me know if it works.
