Bobloco:Suspending subsidy and stabilising the forex exchange are steps every right minded politician knows needed to be done. but no one had the courage. Tinubu had the courage and has done it once and for all. Why postpone a needed change. You think Dangote will sell at N167, or you suggest we pay subsidy to Dangote too? `will that change anything? God bless Tinubu for his courage |

lionshare:U don't know how evil these pple are.....their progress is based on Nigerians sufferings....they will rather bomb dangote refinery to the ground than end their importation and fuel subsidy collection |

BrightFuture48:My brother, that's a private business. They have financial projections. Investors want to recoup their monies while they are still alive. Dangote would have pushed his competitors out of business if it wasn't NNPC he's doing this with. |

GOD BLESS TINUBU FOR TAKING A HARD DECISION FIR NIGERIANS. I SEE A GREAT FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN. LET THE COMPETITION CONTINUE 💃💃💃💃💃 |

wellmax:It has absolutely nothing to do with courage. It is a lack of planning and wickedness. It is pure wickedness to subject Nigerians to such hardships. Subsidy removal was supposed to be a gradual but sustained process. Worldwide, that's how things are done. I know very well that the price wasn't going to remain at ₦165 per liter; it would have risen to something around ₦400, but not over ₦1,350 in such a short time, inflicting untold hardships on Nigerians. |

Most people just dey yarn rubbish above, if Dangote had not activated his refinery una for dey buy petrol at N2,000 per litre now. Tinubu should have waited for the refinery to be operational before removing subsidy, the real hero here is Dangote and NOT Tinubu. Sai Dangote! |

belikewater:This is what I have been saying: some folks are claiming that Tinubu should be commended for having courage. What kind of courage? Maybe courage to make thoughtless statements and inflict hardship on Nigerians is what should be commended. Subsidy removal was supposed to come after the refineries had been activated and started producing fuel. |

Sheuns:You mean BUA and others will are just spending billions of dollars to build refineries that they won't use.... Are you sure you know anything about business? India has the largest refinery in the world, but they don't have a drop of crude oil. Ignorance will kill some of you before hunger |

The pressing of the neck of Nigeria national petroleum cabal (NNPC) will continue. God bless Tafida and make him bigger. |

EXOUSIAng:Why did he and Fayemi play politics during the 2012 Ojota fuel deregulation protests, using Buhari's 2011 running mate? That was the year Tinubu described Buhari as expired. How much do you think petrol would cost now, 13 years after, if APC did not play with our economic wellbeing back then ![]() Omooba77: |

For the current socio-economic realities, PMS should not be more than N400 per litre. |
| Re: Dangote Lowers Petrol Loading Cost To ₦815/Litre by nnewsnjobs: 6:47am On Mar 14, 2025 |
It should continue going down until it gets to #500 per liter. Dangote should do the needful and reduce it further. Oil marketers/importers should keep their import license with them and be ready to import fuel in case Dangote want to do otherwise and start increasing price. Anything to favour Nigerian masses is what we want. |

lionshare:I’m sure he will do that eventually when competition becomes very stiff. Doing so now will hurt his profit inflow. At the moment, he’s leveraging on current high price to rake in profit the checkmate move will come soon. |

Bobloco:I don’t know how old you are but you typed like a child… how many years have we been trying to make our refineries operational? Doesn’t that tell you internal saboteurs and the main beneficiaries of the subsidy won’t let that happen? The best thing to happen to Nigeria is complete subsidy removal. I wish we allowed GEJ remove subsidy in 2012… by now we would have moved past this stage. However, the next best time to correct a wrong is now and I’m happy that has been done! |

| Re: Dangote Lowers Petrol Loading Cost To ₦815/Litre by HenryWilliams(m): 7:00am On Mar 14, 2025 |
Reduced price to N815 yet fuel is still sold for 860 in MRS and over 950 in Mobil and Total. What's going on? Transport fares haven't dropped at all. So what's the benefit? |
| Re: Dangote Lowers Petrol Loading Cost To ₦815/Litre by Bosman17: 7:01am On Mar 14, 2025 |
Bobloco:How would that have happened? See the war Dangote fought and the pressure Nigerians hipped on NNPC before allowing Dangote operate? If we were still paying subsidy, Dangote refinery won’t have seen the light of day!!! Also who are we truly subsidising? You with one car and a generator? No!!! The people smuggling out the petrol to sell to neighbouring countries are the true beneficiaries…. |
| Re: Dangote Lowers Petrol Loading Cost To ₦815/Litre by lionshare: 7:01am On Mar 14, 2025 |
Leonardo4:Eliminating, in that context, means selling way below the landing cost of imported petrol, not eliminating imports. It’s a deregulated market; everyone should have access. |

EXOUSIAng:Can you please shut up if you dont know, the oil sector has being deregulated before Tinubu step on Board Whatever price reduction we are seein now has nothing to do with any Tinubu or whatever ... int'l market price is on a free fall but they wont give credit to where it due Should the int'l market price start going up, you will realize the market forces you see now is nothing |

BrightFuture48:Go build yours and sell for 200. Your government is selling for how much again? Instead of blaming their government, they are focusing on a private enterprise who has freedom to do what he does. Do you even know what he faced behind the scenes with Tinubu? Do you have an idea what it takes to run a business, especially in a country like Nigeria? How many people do you think will be able to pull off a refinery in a country as corrupt as Nigeria? Not everything is to be said online. All I'll say is kindly keep quiet, if you have no idea what's going on behind the scene. Try to look for who knows who to know about the behind the scenes politics |

pimplucious:they are angry because the removal wasn't done by their candidate. Every well meaning Nigeria knew he wasn't going to be easy but it's a must. Allihamdulillah today competition is on amongst petrol marketers Gone are those days when fuel go, never gonna come down.no more queues. We are progressing. |
