Do We Even Have Any Leader That Can Inspire The People? by Stephen0mozzy(op):
A thought just hit me now.....

If you take away the money and political influence, is there any Nigerian leader that can inspire the masses by the strength of their character, educate by the depth of their reasoning or by the principles/policies they push for?

Maybe na me no dey follow politics, but no one comes to mind. Says alot about the people.

And for those of us who'll say...."No be we vote them in o"

Then shame on us!

The condition on which government exists (Democracy) is that we surrender our individuality for the collective good - that which serves to benefit the majority, rather than the elitist class, on the contractual term that government will protect US!

But today we've become prisoners in our own house. We now worship the oppressors and fight anyone who dares to point out the chains of our captivity.

Do you have any one that can inspire you intellectually? I'll like to know, and read up on their sayings and actions.

Edit: There are some mentions that will be intentionally ignored, because the commentors think forcing their opinion on others is the same thing as having a conversation.

If Peter Obi is not good enough for you then just put hands in your pocket and remove the corns 🌽.

One man entered an unknown party and mobilized the people without spending a dime and got 6.1million votes but you didn’t remember him when you thought of politicians who can mobilize the people by the strength of their character.

Repeat after me …. Agbado oooo

The people are the problem.

Nigerians, we like to blame the government, but the truth is, Nigerians themselves are corrupt, tribalistic, undereducated and short sighted.

The population of a nation needs to have a shared sense of destiny in order to grow, without it, we are a kingdom divided against itself.

Right now, none.

The person that almost fit into this category is Buhari when he was contesting and losing. He was tagged an incorruptible and upright person.

It was wrong.

Hmm... I can almost agree. But his popularity kindda latched on to Nigerians "at the moment need" for an alternative to the two party system - that always forces us to choose the lesser evil.

He was already a Leader before the election.... How inspiring was he before the election? What was the conversation he was leading before the election?

Hard to say a man is humble when he is before you with an empty plate for his meal.

Read the economic ideas of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Peter Obi.

In order to contribute to economic prosperity, we Igbos have donated Okonjo-Iweala to the world and Obi to Nigeria.

You have not read their ideas I believe. I doubt their economic ideas are ethnocentric. There is nothing like "we igbos" - they're first Nigerians.

For one, maybe what we should be talking about, is people who inspire Nationalism rather than this regionalist mindset you just expressed.

God has already given us.... Probably too much more. But seems those who have the enlightened mind to fit this shoe have either being sucked out by brain drain, or have restrained themselves from playing in the cesspool of today's leadership game

Donating Peter Obi to Nigeria is also an act of nationalism. So Obi inspires nationalism. But we Igbos believe more in globalization.

That’s why we now brought out Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to increase global prosperity.

Oga there is no point to hold intellectual conversations with someone who can't see the obvious

You saw obi yet asking obvious question only one set of people do this and that's Tinubu supporters

Obi has been leading same conversation for years. ... It's obvious u didn't even do any research

1) reduction in cost of governance by removing bottle necks
2) investment in education and health to produce a healthy and educated population ( before contesting obi had donated over 10 million dollars of his personal money to this course over the years)

If this two are not enough then I don't know what you are looking for

Who did you vote for in the last presidential election? That person I believe can inspire the people from your own analysis.

Ibo people loves defending their criminal brothers. grin

Yes later u people will claim ikpeazu is the best in-term of good governance. grin

S.E are Very Tribalistic and ethnic bigoted people.

Lol... Just stop claiming them just because they have igbo names, and were born in an igbo state.

If you believed the tiniest bit about the words you've typed in your statements - nationalism and globalization, you won't be playing tribal sentiments in the same sentence.

PO and NOI are great minds ofcourse, but they are NIGERIAN first..... They see it, you should too.

That's why you see they are holding discussions about improving Nigeria, and not ONLY their state in igbo land

Very valid point - a shared sense of identity. Its appalling to see and read supposedly learned people dipping into the sour pot of convenient tribalism when it serves their interests or advances their ambitions, yet we expect that the leaders will be any different.

A Leader that will make tribal bigots feel ashamed to in their bigotry and embrace unity is what we want.... and i don't mean during elections. A leader doesn't have to be a President to change the mindset of the people for national development.... His personality is a platform in its own right!

@op,to be candid with you in my own opinion none of the politians can be worth inspired or revered. Many of the so called supporters are just tribal bigots or who supports a candidate based on religious affiliate
