That's not true. My own blood sister was a manager in first bank before she japa to Canada. Why did she japa? Because she see that as an achievement. She had everything here already but as per nag japa dry reign now. Her saving grace is that her husband has plenty businesses and investments that are flourishing here. People are just brainwashed!
grin you said it all. Once u are stable in Nigeria pin.

Aside the insecurity, inflation and kidnapping... Any government that can tackle this three stuff will help Nigeria beyond measure

No. 1, your income shows you and your wife do not have skills that can command good income. But even at that and your wife working just 2 days and you working 4 days, you said you guys can still save 500pounds, that is 1million naira, Tell yourself the truth if you and your wife dey nigeria, will you guys save 1million naira per month as a family , with the skill u have and the job u will be able to do in Nigeria. Will you have access to the kind of facilities u have access to in UK.
you send 150pounds back home every month, the people u send that 150pounds to every month, if u dey Nigeria will u be able to give them 300k naira every month.

Oga you and your wife work minimum wage(which means there is room for growth if you upskill with time), you work 4 days a week, your wife works 2 days a week and you guys are still sending 300 thousand naira home every month and saving 500pounds(approx 1m naira) every month. Now let's not even convert to Naira, una fit save 6k pounds per year, while working 54 hours a week(between u and your wife)...if that is not good enough, please tell us what u guys were doing and earning in nigeria before u left
What do u mean by the word minimum wage. Travel is part of education so its good you have one.

Secondly i pay 1030 pounds for health insurance each year for each person in my household. We are 4 in numbers.

Your head is very correct. The OP is probably a care worker, cleaner or factory worker. You made valid points.
Apart from this jobs which job do u want to do again?.

The healthcare that is comparable to what you and your wife and your child receive in UK, do you know how much that will cost in Nigeria?
The most important thing you should consider is that you and your wife are not yet maximizing your earning power-for obvious reasons(attention for your child and probably you guys are still relatively new in UK and still trying to navigate the system).
YOu guys still have room for growth, career change to a more rewarding one financially. ANd you are also maintaining a good work-life balance between u and ur wife for now. But if i may ask, what were u doing/earning when u were in Nigeria
We have never for one visited the hospital since we arrived. grin our Naija drugs still full bag. I mean the ones we brought.

This is the quality of life OP keeps hammering on. Someone who lived in a big house in Nigeria will now have to share apartments, especially at an older age. It does not make sense to me. Standard of living must be maintained in both locations. That should be the goal.
I repeat there is no improvement in personal standard of living aside improvements or access to cheap food Nothing else. Most of us are forced to work nights jobs and back home in the morning, sleep and return back. No party no visiting of friends, no sight seeing just work back home.

Communal improvement based on social amenities. Yes
good road is there.
Light is there
Fresh air
Crime rate is low

So if our government could have sense and work effortlessly to tackle this area Nigeria shalm be great

Lol. It's easy. The guy was right. If you move to America or Europe, don't waste your time, learn a high in demand skill ASAP.
My experience. Moved to US, learnt a skill HVAC, my second year in America, just my second year, I grossed over $100k..... this year, I am aiming at $150k to $200k
Not capping, or bragging. But it's doable.
The truth is, if you are a cat, don't think you will come to Western world and turn into a lion.
But if you are a lion in nigeria, Western world will bring out the beast in you, making you that king of the jungle.
See attached see wetin HVAC techs dey earn, na Indeed ooo
Good morning bro. I'd like to send you a private message concerning this HVAC training skills and acquisition..

You will likely not get a visa to those Eastern European countries due to their tight immigration policies. Check their Nairaland threads for more details.

Netherlands is good provided you have the right skills needed by the economy and you learn Dutch. As a Black African, Belgium sounds like Kogi to me anytime I come across the name.
Is it that Belgium is easy to enter or their standard of living is trash? And also what are those skills one needs to survive in Europe generally.

To be fair, as Tensazan.getsu20 said, it's largely a skill issue as I'm sure there are Nigerians who moved recently but don't experience the same struggles. Shey no 9-5 jobs again in the UK ni?

how na

99% sold off everything and got on that plane, some as students, but all with no intention of returning. If na you sef, after selling everything to relocate and start over in Youkay, shey you go com relocate back to Nigeria to start all over yet again? No way!

Most just defer to 'better quality of life' and 'my children's future are secured' as consolation. Only problem is that is factually nonsense, cos quality of life is subjective and children that will be yamayama from poor upbringing will still be yamayama regardless of location, or worse still, more likely to happen sef due to location, both ways...case in point gangs and knife wielding maniacs in peckham, mostly of African/Nigerian descent or the yahhoboiz/cultists/oloshos in naija
point is to every side of life there are two side to the coin, regardless of where you are. the earlier nigerians realize this the better not every one will be rich, not every that japa will mak it same goes to those that stay back.

Why are u guys always throwing insults.

The guy replied me as if u can just pick up a car and drive or walk into a driving licence office and pick it.

Am trying to make him understand that its not all that it takes an average of 4 to 5 months to sit for practical test and statistics says over 45% have passed rate....

Does that says am idle. I have a provisional and have passed theory teste and am waiting for practical.

All u have to do is to wait... The wait period u have no power over it.

Stop personal attacks and face reality on him ground. If i had said negative things about Nigeria u wont attack
You are someone with a mediocre mindset, @jedisco is correct. I have also told you the same.

I passed my driving test at the 3rd attempt and took all 3 tests within a month. Mind you, I live in an area which has very high car ownership rate and very long waiting list.

Go to the booking site every monday or tuesday morning and refresh for cancellations. There are even bots that can do it for you. I did it without a bot, you too can but not with your kind od mindset

You are just someone with a very mediocre mindset.

So the reason you dont have a driving licence is because you have been too much of a chicken to take the test not because you are mandated to wait 5months after each test as you seem to suggest.

This is what you should have said rather than misleading people.

And yes, I hate mediocrity, hence the angry post.
