one thing about u lots is that u throw away common sense once it's time to blame tinubu cos of hate

So in your own world , it's reasonable for someone earning 100k to get accommodation of 1.2m?

Yes or no?
The first question I asked you, you skipped it and now asking me more questions.

I asked,

Why would the government be paying anyone 100k when we know the rents are so high, not to talk of other problems he needs to solve from the same money? Please answer that question.

And please, do a breakdown of how someone can pay rent, eat, transport himself, pay for healthcare, and take care of other things from a salary of 100k.

Let's see how you can manage such money to survive in the first 0place.

oga if your friend is earning 50k n he rents an house of 1.2 million

And when it's time to pay rent, he tells u to borrow him money, how will u feel?

Remove APC n let's talk about common sense n basic economic of life now

Does it make sense for a person earning 100k per month to stay in a house of 1.2 million?
Bro you are not tackling the issue. Was house rent this exorbitantly high 2-3 years ago? Comfortable self con used to be 180-200k where I stay just around 3 years ago. But now, a comfortable self con is between 350-400k in average and some places is over 450k. 2 bedroom flat that used to be 450-600k is not 1.2-1.7k.
Free the corper girl and address the issue of skyrocketing prices. She may have siblings or parents or a boyfriend or even a business sustaining her lifestyle. She didn't cry for you or for the government to pay her rent. She is only crying for the government to do better so people can have a better standard of living.
I remember in 2021 when we buried my late dad, I was earning just 60k as a fresh graduate who was yet to serve by then. From that 60k I was able to save to foot some of the burial expenses. My one month salary was able to buy 2 bags of rice and 1 20 litre gallon of groundnut oil. Cow head with the neck then, we bought at 65k. A carton of beer then was 2400. Ambulance was 8k.
as at December when my bro did an occasion, two bags of rice were 200k, 29 litre gallon of groundnut oil was 57k, a crate of Heineken was 14k, cow head with the neck was 280k, etc.
So why leave the serious issues at hand to tackle someone who paid rent of 1m with 33k allowee. After all, she didn't tell you she paid her rent from her allowee savings.

I started staying alone since 2016

How old were u then

This is pure common sense thats even applicable anywhere in the world

Does it make sense to u for someone earning 100k per month to get accommodation of 1.2 million?

Can u yourself do that or we must just blame d government for everything?
most corpers are still under the care of their parents. Definitely there are corpers from rich families, that can afford to pay N1m rent. You are sounding like all corpers rely on that allawee..

now that u are sincere and you agree it doesn't make sense

That person should spend what he/she could afford on rent so she won't be complaining

The reality of life is that not everyone can afford luxury, even in America not everyone uses luxury

So the person should live within his or her means to avoid unnecessary complains
That means the corper should live in awful accomodation.

Thanks.

At the end, governments in this country don't do enough for corpers.

Top of the hour anywhere you are reading this from.

Today I saw a video of a corp member who complained about the present economic situation of Nigeria which is understandable. It is clear to all that Nigeria is going through a reform and with time the reforms will yield results.

That's not where we are going though, another video also pop out as regards the said video with a lady( probably a corper) talking about accomodation of 1.2 million naira and I see many people defending her.

Like ask yourself, how can someone earning let's even say 200k per month think of 1 million naira accomodation? Let alone a corper earning less than 50k.

To those defending her, does it make sense to you or you just want to act rich and throw away common sense?

Like where is the "cut your coat according to your size" common sense line?

If your siblings serving should tell you he/she is getting an accomodation of 1 million with a salary of 100k, won't u speak sense into him or her?

I thought we have seen multiple threads here talking about salary to house rent ratio and majority of the people agree 2 months salary should pay for rent, so how come we have people supporting someone earning 50k n staying in an accomodation of 1.2 million.

It's not even advisable for someone earning 300k per month to go for over a million accommodation but these people see it as normal for someone earning less than 50k to rent house of over a million and they are blaming the government

Must we always blame the government even when common sense can solve it?

It's not advisable to rent an expensive apartment, mind you here in Ibadan and area with band b electricity supply, the cheapest R/P you will get goes for 500k (excluding agent fee), cheapest room selfcon goes for 300k(excluding agent fee). If corpers truly earns 33k per month, then 1yr stipend cannot rent a manageable room selfcon. Although agents are not helping likewise some house owner but the cost of maintenance to keep a building in good shape is not cheap either. A bag of cement is 9800naira as we speak

Yes, there are room/parlour selfcon of 1.5m or even 2m naira here in Ibadan. We have 4bdr duplex of 11m yearly rents here in Ibadan not even Lagos state

Botomlime is the inflation is not funny especially to low income earners

Nigeria is going through hardship, reform Is a hoax and fraud.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Nigeria is going through a reform.

If its going through a reform, the evidence would be everywhere.

When I was in school, I don't earn a dime.
My house rent was 800k.

Who told you it's the peanut that Nysc pays corps that sustains most of them?

The girl was speaking on behalf of poor people suffering the economic sabotage of Tinubu, something you would never do because you hate poor people and defend their oppressors.
Think about your life, God is real. Hating poor people and tackling them whenever they cry is sheer evil.
Re: Are Nigerians Dull Or We Just Want To Form Woke By Pretending We Are Dull? by Acidosis(m):
You're probably still in the village, feeding for free and living in the house your parents inherited from their grandparents, because...!

See your mouth like, "She should spend what she can afford on rent." Who told you that agents and landlords care about what you can afford? Do you think rent is like food, where you insult people for drinking ordinary Coke and blame them for not going for unsanitized Zobo in pet bottles picked up from the gutters?

Someone asked what a 100k earner should spend on rent, but your dishonest self couldn’t answer because you know that no answer will ever make sense.

You’re a dishonest, self-serving crook! Because why would you even dwell so much on 100k when the government, which you're trying too hard to defend, is still paying 33k? Do you see how dishonest you are? So let me ask you, how much should a 33k earning corper spend on rent in Lagos? Apart from Makoko, where else can a 33k earning corper afford without the support of family, friends, or strangers?

If you give APC miscreants chance, they will put all of una inside prison and be feeding you grains.

This is the same country where the son of the president who is totally jobless is sharing scholarships and throwing money around.

Same country where the NYSC serving son of the last president crashed on a 65 million naira powerbike.

I don't blame you, I blame the hungry illiterate fvuLs who kill each other to rig elections for their slave drivers.
A nigerian graduate who went through hell to graduate deserves to live in a #1.2m apartment years ago the federal govt even give them cars and jobs immediately after graduation.

I am concerned about her rants cos u yourself said it that it doesn't make sense to pay 1.2 million when your salary is 100k.

One thing I hate about Nigerians is that they know d difference between normal n luxury, someone who can afford normal will go extra mile to get luxury n will start complaining it's expensive.

Guy nobody force u go there, last month I went to fix something's for people at lekki phase 1 n we were to use 5 days.

The eatery close by sells a plate of rice for eight thousand five hundred naira, I know its beyond my budget so me n d small boy I took there to help me had to drive to a place we can afford what they sell conveniently

It will b stupidity on my part to buy food of 8k5 per plate n start complaining when I can get food at 2k in other places

Oga there are standard to life, once u accept it n know your standard your life go smooth. The time people have problem is when they start going for things beyond their standard

If u feel u want luxury, buy it n don't come online to complain. If u know u will complain after buying it then lock up
You don't need to hate Nigerians because they speak their minds and it does not sit well with your bias
I don't know where you live or how you're living but you can be rest assured that in most major cities of Nigeria especially Lagos, Abuja, PH and Asaba that I know of, 1.2m rent is no longer a luxury. It's a normal. Flats that used to go for 350k as at 2021 now command rents in the region of 900k and it's not even in highbrow areas!! If you doubt me, you can ask people who live in decent flats how much they pay in such big cities
That said, you can't short circuit the right of people to complain. I don't know who you think you are but it's not really your business if I eat in a restaurant and feel they charge too high. The lady did not mention your name. Why are you so peeved that she's complaining about living costs that affect her?
I was taking you somewhere but I see how you dishonestly veered off point to rant. In your Op, you said it is generally agreed that rent should not exceed two months pay. For a corper, that will be 66k. Now can you point to any decent accommodation in any part of Lagos that you can get for 66k so that she can be informed?
Even the person 100k who is most probably a family man, can you point to any decent accommodation for a family in any part of Lagos that goes for 200k?
You see, the problem with you is that you're so fixated on the messenger and not the message in a bid to discredit the message
The simple fact is rent has gone berserk over the past year. Everyone feels the pinch corper or not

From wherever and whatever, as long as she is working, she deserves a room self contained as accommodation.
