What a shame!
OBIDIENTS saw this coming and warned y’all.

A big shame to all you impoverished mo’fvckers who ignorantly got bribed to vote Buhari and Tinubu only to suffer under their selected government.
A bigger shame to all you educated fools who wickedly did same and are now shuffering and shmiling.
The biggest shame go to most Nigerians who easily forgive and forget the trespasses of these losers ruining Nigeria.

But APC came in with the idea that things should be better...that that price of rice should be less than 6000 naira

As you can see, things are worse.

Well a bag of rice was once N400 back in 1990....

Yes, APC is a mess, but this price game is not the best way to measure our economic performance.
No one is measuring our economic performance solely by rice, however, it's an example of how hyper-inflation has messed up our economy. Apart from rice, the prices of several other goods and materials have increased astronomically making them rather unaffordable.

The issue here is how the economic policies of this clueless government has further impoverish the people. Anyone who is still supporting TINUBU'S ECONOMIC POLICIES needs to have a brain transplant.

Dude is super clueless!

Yes that's true....but the thing is, one could say the same about our economy between that time and say GEJ time.

The problem is, forget APC and PDP....Nigeria's economy is so dependent on subsidised living, based on revenue from oyel. And we should have made the hard choice decades ago to become a productive economy.

Obi really needs to step up or step aside.

He needs to put all cards on the table and start making statements like:

"Anyone planning to rigs 2027 elections should be ready for disintegration of Nigeria"

"We will not tolerate rigging in 2027, Nigerian will defend dia votes to dia last blood"

If Obi can't develop the mindset of Buhari in 2015, pls let him step aside enough is enough, I can't waste my votes again, Sowore will step up!
Wike made these statements in 2015 against Buhari and APC....today,he is the oppressor!

Buhari made similar statements before he became president...the moment he became president,he started arresting all his political opponents and banning social media platforms that gave him and apc a voice...after 8 pathetic years of maladministration,he still holds the infamous title of being the worst president of Nigeria!

What about Adams oshiomole who under NLC was a fighter, activist and outspoken?
Infact Sowore did half of what Oshiomole did during his time as president of NLC!
Where is he today?
Is he not a glorified posterboy for Tinubu?
Shamelessly wearing Tinubu signature cap with pride?

What about festus keyamo, the lawyer and human right activist who was seen as the man to take over from his mentor Gani Fawehinmi!
Is he not in the pocket of your oppressor?

Stop waiting for a messiah and collectively demand for your rights as citizens!

If you like put Sowore there and he will turn out to be another oshiomole!

Actions speak louder than empty words!

Civility is not a sign of weakness or crudity,a sign of strength!

Obi will be fine even if he doesn't become president...what about you?

50kg bag imported rice was around N120 under Buhari then N400 under Babangida.
Nigeria's population was 80 million in 1985 and 95 million in 1990. 180 million under Jonathan by 2015 and now estimated at 235 million under Tinubu.
The minimum wage then can get the bag of rice and additional stuff unlike the minimum wage now that can't get it.

Show us the one of 2011 too.

Cry cry boy
Between 1999 to 2003, minimum wage averaged N3,000. That would get you 1& half bags or rice or 1 & one quarter bags.

In 2014, minimum wage of N18,000 would gey you 2+ bags of rice at N8,000 per bag.

Today, the minimum wage of N70,000 cannot buy a bag of rice...

Did you now see that Tinubu is terrible?

That same bag of rice cost less than 60 naira in the 1980's.

Perhaps GEJ was also as bad as t-pain too?

Or there is another cold reason why the naira is bad, and why APC and PDP are just like each other?

I do not like t-pain. He's not good.

There are so many things responsible but I don't have the time for long discussions. If you notice my posts on NL, you will notice that I only chip in one post, respond once or twice, and disappear. Even if you respond and I don't agree with your response, I won't reply because time is valuable. I still have about 5 projects to execute as I am typing.

Obasanjo's government was favoured because our debt was canceled and we had the opportunity to concentrate on nation building but instead of building the nation, we were borrowing more to steal. The ill effect wasn't felt immediately but accruing. We were complaining of no light, no fuel, no water etc,

Then Jonathan came. He foresaw this problem we are facing now but when he tried to tackle the problem, we complained. Even when we didn't have a good refinery, he tried to remove the subsidy. If he had done that, things would have become costly but not this much since we were importing foods then and we might have passed this phase. But we will wail all the same.

We play too much dirty politics in Nigeria. We have an increasing but unproductive population and no patriotism. Too many ills to mention.

During Jonathan's government, the opposition especially the north played bad politics and formed Boko Haram to frustrate him. Local food production was already affected but we didn't feel it because we were importing food.

Buhari came and blocked importation to favour his people without addressing the insecurity. Even ignoring the insecurity might be a master strategy to achieve an aim. Then we have insufficient local supply and low importation which were mostly smuggled. The effect was an increase in price.

Tinubu came and tried to solve another issue without addressing the food shortage. Transport become costly, affecting all sector of the economy...

Managing an economy is a complex issue. Taking care of one issue always entails sacrificing another. Increasing wages will increase cost of production. If the cost of production becomes more favourable in a neighboring country, companies will leave your country resulting in few or no jobs and an increasing crime rate. Not increasing salaries means increasing poverty if no local production to force down prices. So you need to strike a balance.

Okay! Let's increase production. Some people will create insecurity to frustrate you. Try to tackle the insecurity, then you hear "See they are killing our people"

Naija tire me... All these oppositions talking trash now will have the same problem when they get there and their supporters will switch from waivers to supporters of the ills.

Our main problem is unity of purpose. In Nigeria. Successive governments don't agree, parties don't agree, tribes don't agree etc. We don't say this is where we want to be in 50 years and work towards it together. Another government will come in to create it's own plans and actions and we continue to move in a circle like the old israelites. If you say, lets control the birth rate, some people will bring religious argument. Okay! If you want more population, your people must work. Haa... They are attacking our people and we will not vote you again.

Baba Buhari major blunder is trying to help our local farmers. The criminals sees his genuine policy as a great opportunity to cash out too and we suddenly found ourselves in this mess.

The criminals will hoard their harvest, create artificial scarcity, sell to neighboring countries and still come back here to get free fertilizer from the FG.

I never knew you reason well. I had already taken you as someone who leaves his brain in the bush before setting out. If your comments had always come with these sort of analysis, I would be running to search for your comments on Nairaland. Kudos for this one!
