My advice After careful consideration, here's what you should do: 1. Invest in a business: Y'll use ₦5 million to invest in a business venture, potentially generating passive income and creating jobs. 2. Diversify my portfolio: Invest ₦3 million in a mix of foreign stocks, NGX, and other investment platforms to spread risk. 3. Manage the rental property: Ensure the 4-flat property continues to generate consistent rental income. 4. Save for the future: Set aside ₦2 million for your sister children's & your own kids education and future expenses. 5. Enjoy the present: Share ₦2 million to improve your standard of living, taking your family on a well-deserved vacation and upgrading your lifestyle. This decision allows you to balance your financial goals, provide for your immediate and extended family, and create opportunities for growth and wealth creation. |

So the options 1. Japa is perhaps the riskiest. Relocate to other country, and you will see that the N12 million will not carry you and your family up to 3 months. What will you be doing there? Which VISA? 2. If you have business acumen, this is potentially the best. 3. High quality banking shares are not bad. Avoid oil and gas and Teleco shares this period. 4. Crypto...hmmm. If you get morale why not? Na liver. 5. Mutual funds/MMF is not bad.....that N500k annual rental especially can cool off there. 6. As above. 7. Not bad, too. But no dividends from land, just capital appreciation. |

If you had conviction about a path to take before this money came, you would have been better prepared to utilise the funds. The least exciting option is investing in treasury bills as that guarantees steady and passive income. The second best option is Diversifying Your Income Streams. But you need expertise in whatever you're investing in. Expertise or connections. I think you're better off doing both, safe investment and diversifying income stream with a business you have expertise/ connections in. If you do not have a business idea formulated in your mind, maybe just japa but japa based on work visa. You can equip your self with in-demand skills to give yourself a better chance of getting the visa. |

His father literally gave the only son everything and left the girls out. If he were still alive and was in need, he will remember that he has female kids. Stupid African mentality! |

eniolorunfe:English comprehension is your problem, did you read the weighing option, it reads, "weighing our options, we Are faced with several options" meaning they have agreed but the options stated is what six of them are faced with. |

Pojomojo:It is you that has comprehension issues else, how can you think the options stated is what six of them are faced with? Is the stated amount going to be enough for six of them and their families, considering the options. You didn’t see where the op was interchanging “we” with “I/my”. The options are for his immediate family (wife and kids), not his other siblings and their families. |

| Re: My Life Before The Inheritance by leomarz007: 4:01pm On Mar 13, 2025 |
IyaTola:Well, I have a goat farm, a poultry, a provision store and early last year got into catfish farming. All are still running and none has closed down or will close down in the future. It takes time to build though and I started them back(with exception of the catfish farming) in the year 2011. |

Whatever you do try to buy suya like 20k (tozo specifically) and holandia yoghurt big size. Enjoy part of it. Someday you may live it too same way popsy did. One elderly woman I was buying groceries from once told me: "It's the food that birds eat, they fly away with." it's just a metaphorical expression that conveys the idea that the only things we truly take with us in life are the experiences, memories, and joys we've had (the "food" we've eaten). Everything else, material possessions and all, are left behind. #unpopular opinion |
