I VTEC engine. Small but mighty...Mobil 1 0w20 or Pennzoil will keep this engine happy and ready to perform..... (Pic 3) brake hold. When you stuck in traffic you can activate the brake hold. This will allow you to rest your feet from holding the break ......very handy. Better appreciated in Lagos traffic. Just take your feet of the brake and relax ........

dru23:What's the advantage of using this method over just simply switching to neutral or park while in tight traffic ![]() |

SeeWahala:When you switch to neutral you will still need to hold the brake with your feet. |

Typing:Seriously? Even while stationary on level ground? |

SeeWahala:Yes. To be on safer side. Before you bash someone's car on traffic. Except you apply hand brake. Remember, most road are not entirely flat. |

dru23:I love that break hold in my GLK 2013.... It is being activated by depressing the brake pedal, and turns off when you accelerate...... ANother fun feature which I am not sure is on this civic is ECO Start/Stop; engine turns off when you come to a complete stop in traffic and on when you hit accelerate pedal.... Again, I came across how I VTEC engines work especially on V6; some cylinder would stop working to economize fuel usage... How true? Also, Does that exist on the 4 plugs too? |

Typing:I am always scared of this function, cus, WHAT IF the system fails? |

Typing:That's true. |

Samafroxy22:The Hold brake is nice, I use it once in a while. The Civic does not have the eco start and stop . But it has Eco button. It helps the car burn less fuel when the button is activated. It is good for city driving.... Have used it and I don't see much difference in fuel economy.. The I VTEC works on 4 cylinder too . Very reliable engine. And they are know for modifications for more horse power out put... Small but mighty engine |

Samafroxy22:It's a nonsense feature. It's very inconveniencing and puts needless stress to the starter motor and engine, engine mounts, AC system, life in the long run. It was introduced to reduce emissions and fuel consumption in traffic holdup. |
