VIDEO: SDP is a branch of APC, Galadima claims

Alhaji Buba Galadima, a prominent leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has downplayed the recent wave of defections to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), labeling the latter as merely an extension of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Galadima expressed that it was unsurprising for NNPP members to join the SDP, as he believes the party functions as a satellite organization of the APC.

According to him, these defections align with the political dynamics where the SDP essentially serves as an appendage to the ruling party’s agenda.

He said, “The SDP that you talked about in your introduction is a branch of the APC. It was those APC people that moved to what you now called SDP. Nothing more. How many people from other parties have moved to the SDP? That is the question the people should ask. So, it is not out of place, you’re in Lagos. this is the character of Lagos to decimate opposition.”

Alhaji Buba Galadima’s remarks came in response to Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s recent call for opposition leaders to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2027, with the aim of challenging the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming presidential race.

El-Rufai, who defected from the APC to the SDP earlier in March, has been actively reaching out to leaders and members of other opposition parties.

He is encouraging them to join his new party, in a bid to create a formidable opposition force as the 2027 presidential election draws nearer.

APC is the party to beat.

Any party that works with them will have the same fate as those who worked against them.

They should just be ready to share the little loot left by the other parties.

I do not have a single doubt about it. Those trusting Hell Rufai are on their own. He is on a mission to divide the opposition and he is working for Tinubu.

Obviously, Tinubu knows the only way he wins in 2027 is to create more oppositions. And they are all foolishly falling for it. LP, PDP, NNPP, and now SDP will all have their own presidential candidates and divide the voting block along tribal lines. Each one of them want to be president by force, fools.

grin...people should stop threatening Jagaban...threats will never work. He is a thorougbred politician. Besides Adebayo (who has not been tested yet- for ALL the tested ones have failed), they are all the same. I see no current politician unseating Tinubu because they also have nothing to offer.
