Having declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending the governor, his deputy, and the members of the state House of Assembly, Tinubu should show that he is unbiased by sacking Nyesom Wike, who is obviously the chief instigator of the entire crisis in Rivers State, from the Federal Executive Council.

Failure to sack Wike would only succeed in showing that Tinubu has taken sides with Wike.

Tinubu clearly lacks the wisdom of Solomon.

Wike wanted the child (Rivers state) divided (Burnt), if he won't have it. Fubara was ready to compromise like the woman that loved her child.

King I-no-be-Solomon Tinubu, decided to divide and burn the child.

My people, you can now draw your conclusion on whether your president is wise or not..

Wike is a man of honor and integrity. Tinubu should not sack him.

Wike will always do the right thing for Nigeria. I trust him.

Declaration of State of Emergency in Rivers without suspending FCT Minister will escalate crisis — PeacePro

The Foundation for Peace Professionals, PeacePro, has warned that the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State without suspending the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, will escalate the political crisis rather than mitigate it.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PeacePro’s Executive Director, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, argued that allowing the FCT Minister, who is a key player in the ongoing political conflict in Rivers State, to remain in office while the FEC oversees the state’s administration would create a perception of bias and undermine public trust in the federal government’s handling of the situation.

“The FCT Minister’s involvement in the Rivers State crisis raises serious concerns about fairness and impartiality.

“For the state of emergency to be seen as a genuine effort to restore peace, the government must avoid any appearance of favoritism or conflict of interest.

“Suspending the FCT Minister would help create a neutral environment necessary for effective conflict resolution,” the statement read.

PeacePro emphasized that the success of the state of emergency depends on the federal government’s ability to maintain neutrality and fairness.

Mr Hamzat, therefore, urged the President to demonstrate a strong commitment to peace and justice by suspending the FCT Minister and ensuring that all decisions related to Rivers State are made without undue influence.

PeacePro further called for inclusive dialogue involving all stakeholders to address the root causes of the conflict and establish a framework for sustainable peace in Rivers State.
