Fubara should have presented the budget to the full members of the house of assembly as directed by the the Presidential intervention in December 2023.The presentation of the budget was the single most important directive from the presidential intervention and fubara failed to comply with it.The Wike lawmakers were simply mandated to withdraw notice of impeachment which they did.In all honesty everything na fubara hand him dey.

This is the point Wike and Tinubu will fight.
Now, Tinubu is in full control of Rivers. Obviously, Wike will expect Tinubu to hand over Rivers to him. The Tinubu I know won’t do such thing. He will keep rivers for himself and add it to his lifetime political empire.
At some point, Tinubu may not even have need for Wike anymore.
For now, he only needs Wike to kill and bury pdp.

As far as Tinubu is concerned , Wike couldn t defeat Fubara by himself. He couldnt seal the deal, thus has no right to claim credit for victory from Tinubu. Tinubu gave him 2 years to overcome Fubara without his direct intervention . He couldn’t .

It took Tinubu staking his political capital to innitiate a state of emergency to get Rivers.

Suspending Wike will not advance the cause of peace in Rivers state. Beside, Wike has not committed any constitutional violations unlike Fubara. Again, the fight is a direct one between the governor and the elected Members of Rivers State house of Assembly. So, you can’t drag the minister into it even though he’s involved indirectly.

Anyone trying to spin this as a real win for Wike is just denying the obvious. When Wike started this fight, In his wildest dreams did he think this fight will last 2 years and would take Tinubu to personally declare a state of emergency to save him from losing to Fubara.

A win for Wike would be to impeach Fubara and have the speaker loyal to him to take over. A boy boy governor he can boss around. Not for Tinubu to declare a state of emergency and put a retired millitary man in charge , that Wike will not be able to kick around as he likes.

Infact, Wike is likely to get a worse deal in terms of control of Rivers compared to what Fubara offered him that he thought was not enough

Even with all the technical support Tinubu gave Wike and all the Supreme Court kangaroo judgements , wike still couldn’t impeach Fubara. If Tinubu did not announce a state of emergency today , Fubara would finish his term and likely win a 2nd term.

The truth is Fubara fought him to standstill, craze for craze. By now, Wike knows he has no monopoly of craze.
