Never knew there could be light 24 hours anywhere in Nigeria.

I visited Aba 15th January and as I am typing I am still at Aba. I've enjoyed light honestly. Everyone appears very happy especially artisans, fabricators and those having garment industries.

I tell you, one hardly hear the noise of generators. The only complaint from the people is high tariff.

Their useless band a,b,c whatever that they brought upon us in Lagos has not made light improve.

Shame to national grid collapsing like Balablue kpako bridge.

There are places in Nigeria that usually have 24 hours power. I wrote a list of them on Nairaland years ago, but I can't find it now. I'll try to recreate it from memory.

Most of the places that have 24 hours power are places that are close to power plants and gas pipelines.

1) Some parts of Plateau State have always had 24 hours power because they were never on NEPA or PHCN. Their electricity comes from the Nigeria Electricity Supply Company (NESCO). NESCO has had a license to generate, transmit and distribute electricity for many decades.

2) Bonny Island has had 24 hours power for decades. Its electricity comes from the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas company.

3) Amen Estate in Lekki, Lagos generate their power from natural gas and they have 24 hours power.

4) There are places that are close to the popular big power plants and they receive power directly from the plant and have 24 hours power. These include parts of Niger State that receive power from Kainji Dam and parts of Ikorodu in Lagos that receive power from Egbin Power Plant.

There are many others. I'll add them as I remember.

Really?
Never heard those power generators transmit to locals.

If so how are they paid or they are outside the transmission and distribution power mix?
