They told me car is a liability... I was just in the midst of wrong advisers including uncles and relatives. I don't know if it was intentional but I regret taking there advises including my dad advice. Sometimes, I think a child can be wiser than his elders. I think I was but I was too obedient. Unfortunately, there was no easy access to internet then at least it could have helped me compare better advice.

If you are in your 20s, get a land no matter how cheap and get a car for business and mobility. As it gets old, sell it and buy another one. Always have at least one car then marry the wife of your youth e get why.

I bought my first car at 22 and also bought for my dad the same day. I bought a 33,000ltr petroleum tanker for Ago business before 30 but still I do not diminish or look down on the struggles of individuals who do not have same opportunities I had in Nigeria. I was merely lucky to work good multinationals from my early 20ies.

Live your life at your own pace, try to be better every day in some form and take care of your health. Do not feel bad if you do not have a car or house at 35, you understand your own struggles the best. Life is a rat race and none of us is coming out of this race alive.

While it's true that people have to set financial literacy and life goals for themselves, it should be measurable goals and if you don't hit your target within a specific time frame, you use creative methods to restrategize.

The reality is that many people hit the big league in career, business and life in general in their 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s. These are verifiable universal facts.

Though a successful attorney and investment banker in the United States, Mr. Bayo Ogunlesi did NOT become a Forbes-listed USD billionaire until he was in his early 70s. So, everything has a time and season for manifestation. Period.

Absolutely, well said.

In fact, let me add this last point. In the light of the current increase in global population India overtook China in 2023 as the most populous country in the world. As I type this, both countries are experiencing levels of unemployment with India churning out thousands of new engineers and college graduates each year. In China, some people who read investment banking and finance CANNOT even get corporate jobs, so, they have to manage jobs as waiters and blue colar work which are different from what they studied in college.

So, having a knowledge of financial literacy (or financial education) in investing in different physical and financial assets globally among other skills such as agribusiness (based on my observations from back in the 1990s) would bail out people down the road in the absence of sustainable jobs globally.

Some come from the E-background,some from the S-background,while some from B- and I backgrounds or quadrants. The

E...means Employee
S...self employed
B... business owner
I.....investors

These people usually react differently and this could be based on each persons risk appetites such as where one person's belong to.

That is why I never wanted to respond to their abuses on my person.

Additionally,when it comes to financial decision,it is not usually a global issue, rather it is a personal decision that ought to be taken care of as an emergency.

The truth is bitter but it must be said and nothing can be said against the truth.
All I would just add to it, is that if you don't get a car or land B4 35, doesn't make u a loser however strive to get one especially if u are based in Nigeria.
If u are based abroad owning a car might not be a priority as transportation is easier by the system/govt there but in Naija owning a car isn't luxury pls, it's a necessity!!! pls except u prefer to jump bus or use Uber.
Even if it's beat up Naija Used car with no AC, it's still better than jumping bus, taking okada, or Uber as long as it's not breaking down every day or drilling a whole in your pockets, u are fine.
What people don't realize is that u can get a car for 2-2.5m and that's okay for mobility. It doesn't have to be luxury vehicle that costs millions!
Owning land/lands is also very important

May we all achieve better in life

Car is not even a good asset, it loses value over time. I once sold a car that was purchased for over 3 million naira for 1.3 million naira.

Car is advisable for married couples with children but not essential for single people. In times like these, car provides liability, I spend a lot on fuel and maintenance.
