What Part Of The Constitution Empowers The President To Suspend A Governor? by givedemwotowoto(op):
I haven't seen that part of the constitution yet. Have you?

Section 188 of the Nigerian Constitution allows for the Impeachment of the of a Governor by the State House of Assembly.

Section 305 allows the President to declare a state of emergency in situations like war, insurgency, civil unrest, public breakdown of law and under, or natural disaster or something similar.

Still, none of these empower the President to suspend or remove a Governor.

In my opinion, the Governor should remain in charge of state affairs while the emergency rule is taking place to solve the problem for which it was declared.

Does this constitute abuse of power by the President?

They should not worry. This is the playbook another president not from South West will use in collecting Lagos. When they come out to protest we will then use the military to finish them off. No one from the South nor Middle Belt nor North will support them. We will remind them what Tinubu did to Rivers state when he was president.

Nobody can convince me that a president who has the AG, and the highest number of advisers and aides, didn't know he was abusing office by unconstitutionally suspending an elected Governor of the state.

It is for reasons such as this that state police will never happen
Imagine if a state gov has his own armed security details. How do you move him out of govt house without a bloodbath?

You have a point. The sole administrator has no business at the governor’s residence and office. He should have a different office. He’s not the elected Governor of the state. He’s there to do a constitutional job of managing chaos or crisis.

Trust me there will be serious reprisals. I can tell you that from a very panoramic point of view and I will beat my chest and tell you that the calibers of people to calm the militants should it happen are not among the crop of politicians we have at the moment.

The APC does not know what it has gambled into. Everything is not about being a drug lord. There is serious tension going on at the moment and we are approaching the raining time.

These guys are beasts when it rains. These is going to take almost the entire Niger Delta / South South regions.

I don't want anyone to quote me. Consider it that I did not say anything. More like I am just alleging please.
