Tinubu has thrown "separation of power" into the dust bin.
The Legislature
The Executive
The Judiciary
These are the three arms of government.
Tinubu as an Executive doesn't have the constitutional power to suspend the Parliament

He is only suspended. He still remains the governor.
For the next 6months, his books and dealings will be audited and probed quietly for infractions and violations.
He already spent the 2024 spendings without appropriation.
That in itself is an impeachable offence.
He needs to do lot of fence mending within these 6 months.
He needs it badly.

Do you know the meaning of separation of power in government?

Declaring state of emergency doesn't mean removing the governor or suspending the parliament. It can only be declared during war, anarchy or natural disaster as approved by the national Assembly.

What is the duty of a court? The court is supposed to settle the dispute.

During a State of Emergency (SoE) in Nigeria, Section 305(3)(c) of the Constitution restricts movement.

Section 305(3)(c) states that the President may, during a state of emergency, restrict the movement of persons.

During a State of Emergency (SoE) in Nigeria, the President can take over the administration of the affected state, but cannot directly suspend the state government.

Section 305(4) of the Nigerian Constitution states that during a state of emergency, the President can issue directives to be executed by the Governor of the affected state, or in exceptional circumstances, the President can take over the administration of the state.

However, Section 305(5) states that the President cannot dissolve the state government or the House of Assembly, as this would be a violation of the principles of federalism and the separation of powers.

1999 constitution does not give the president the right to suspend the government.
He has the right to invoke state of emergency but that doesn't include suspension of the governor.
State of emergency is a state where federal assistance is needed. A governor can declare state of emergency in his or her state in a period of natural disasters like flood, insecurity, political instability etc or can write and ask the president to do such. So a president can declare state of emergency in a state to tackle flood, insecurity, political brouhaha but not suspend the governor and the house of assembly.

If we as Nigerians refuse to see that we are heading towards the end of democracy as it is presently been witnessed in Cameroon under Paul Biya and other sit tight rules in Africa. Gradually, the National Assembly will be crippled and the constitution will be amended to allow multiple tenure in office. Its time for us all to be vigilant before they will start coming for us one by one. As for Wikipedia, he thought he his powerful but unfortunately, he is a pawn that will be discarded in the vary short time soon. I baffled by Wike's action in this unpleasant issue at hand. However; just like the biblical Judas, he will regret this
