I Wonder why the President is shielding Wike.

Did Wike fund him with Billions for campaign and he wants Wike to get his money back from Rivers? Did they enter into a NDA that he is scared Wike may open the can of Worms? Could it be because he is using Wike to destabilize the opposition and because of that he must appease Wike and allow him have a field day in Rivers? So many questions on my mind about his actions that shows he is taking side with Wike. I am confused.

From the beginning i NEVER liked Wike's kind of politics. I have always been a supporter of Fubara on this River's governance though he is from the opposition party.

Wike fights everybody, from Peter Odili to Ameachi and now Fubara even Buhari, he was against him.

Well, may Nigeria win.
It is good to see you use your brain for once

He made a big mistake.... he always hurries in declared things that he regret later..... thats how he declared subsidies ....
Buhari did not include subsidy payment in his budget of 2022 which Tinubu came to meet. So in essence, subsidy was already gone. It was left to announce and Tinubu did.

Truth is, even all the contestants of that election said in their manifestos that subsidy will be gone. And there was no way rationally it would've continued.

Only where to blame Tinubu is if you say ameliorating policies of the effects of the subsidy removal were not in place.

But why Tinubu and him supporters dey fear Wike like this?
Let's first ask why dey fear lowly Obasa, who is just the Speaker of his Lagos master plan LAHA.
At least wicked ologogoro Wike is a two-term governor and two-term minister.

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

A northern President will someday declare SOE in Lagos and remove the governor and the assembly members, appoint sole administrator and let's see what happens.

Yeah very hasty, only 2 pipelines have been blown up before his SoE declaration. He was supposed to wait until everything went in flames and queues returned to filling Stations before taking action.
Once you hate someone, even if he dashed you money you still can't stop the hate. Timubu did the best thing and sent a good message to others who might be contemplating trouble making in their states. Jagaban in charge here, every weaklings should vamoose.
He was supposed to rally the Forces to beef up security around those assets, not sacking the governor and other elected officials.

He even told a blatant lie in his speech where he said the governor demolished the legislative building without any effort to rebuild it.

But it's proven that massive reconstruction is ongoing and in advanced stage!

Baba wey dey lie on national TV.

Or he probably didn't read the script handed him by his handlers in this Rivers crises.

Tinubu is a complete failure!

Section 305 of the constitution is very clear.
But he wants to grab River state to be APC state by all means.
2027 in his mind.
Nobody knows tomorrow.

A young man of 48 years died in my neighborhood through an accident in first week of March,2025.He was always talking about 2027.
He was strong supporter of APC

Sacking a governor as if he was appointed is the height of unconstitutional action and very much impeachable offence.

But unfortunately, the senate president,
Godswill Akpabio is an asslicker of Tinubu.
It will be unbelievable if the house acts otherwise.
Power is transient.

100 years later,it wouldn't matter.

Brother, sorry it's 2023 budget passed in 2022. Federal government couldn't just continue subsidy payment and that isn't rocket science to find out. After not including it in the budget, he even wanted to announce and the date was even fixed before he (Buhari) was advised not to. And I think the who advised him did him a good service because his administration brought hardship and suffering already.

If subsidy was not in the budget I am to use, why not announce it earlier. I am not Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo and not a subjective, bigot or stereotypical person. I am not anti or pro Tinubu. We just say things objectively over here.

The editorial was written personally by the Editorial board chairman who is sympathetic to Fubara . Why didn't they write to condemn Fubara when he demolished the HOA building and was ruling the state with only three members, the speaker, deputy speaker and chief whip with no floor member.
They even passed the state budget under thirty minutes.
