fullclub:With ur current monthly 500 savings, it means it will take you about 4 years to recover the 42 million naira. Well, like u already said, it's a long term investment and not a quick rich scheme. I will only advice you seek for more opportunities to improve your earning and savings |

Peaceful123:That 42M probably came from his Nigeria savings or properties at home. You can't be able to pay ur school fees in uk with part time job while schooling. Talking about whether he will consider moving back home if he recovers the 42M, he already said that himself and his wife joint monthly savings is 500, which is an equivalent of one million naira. What this means is that he needs approximately 4 years to recover that 42M. Now, would you advice him to return home after the 4yrs? I don't think it's a wise advice. He is currently earning minimum wage, and his wife is not yet working full-time because of their kids, meaning there is a room for an improved earning and savings. The UK holds a better future for them, especially their kids, if they can work hard to improve their status |

Henix:Very logical analysis. I don't understand why everyone will be attacking the OP if things are not going well for him right now. He's on the right track and with time he'll gain stability and consolidate. People don't want to hear about your struggles but are more interested in social media buzz. They say tough times create strong men, strong men create good times. |

RodgersAkpafu:You're right, you didn't mention rector. Gerrard59 kept asking the question: "Why would a former rector of a polytechnic japa in the first place only to end up in a factory? Sometimes, I take these posts to be comical." While your post was focused on the 2nd part (bankers), it seemed as if the same fate befell the Rectors. Worse, nobody debunked the rumors. I'm specifically looking for the people pushing the narrative to satiate their appetite for falsehood. |

studyless123:What I typed is the reality I have seen in my immediate circle, and second hand accounts There are relationship managers, BMs, HoPs etc who are now working care and customer care jobs here in Britain It's a downgrade in social status, but the trade off is worth it (at least that's what they believe) What i make in a month in this country (btw I dont do care) Most people in the bank three to four steps my senior don't make it And that's the fact If Naira appreciates to maybe 400 per pound, maybe, just maybe applying to get a professional job in naija will make sense But right now Fvck that |

That’s a dire situation. I am just thinking aloud though. With 42 million in cash without loan or sponsorship, you should be able to set up a profitable business here in Naija Henix: |

fullclub:bro i was like you. till I mastered the system. granted you need a bigger income and your rent is a bit high. Why not do rent for rent. Give a room out and collect some money. Start a side hustle or business in your wife's name. She can start with digital boss academy. Utilize tik tok there is a lot of wealth. Think of investing in stock and shares using your isa to protect your money from inflation. You are not charged tax. Please face your parents alone unless black tax will run you down. Try ajo as well and run real estate parole with others. Stop working too much hours rather register a business in your wife's name and look for contract especially cleaning. Any extra shift run through your business. Uk is a land of opportunity if you use it well. |

yad2eidi:U don't seems to understand travel or immigration system. Most have just two year visa which can't be renewed unless you get a sponsorship job before the expiry date And you have spent over or nearly 50m. The question now is that can this 50m be recovered within this 2 years of post study? That's the question 500 times 12month =6000 times 2 = 12000 now subtract your health insurance of 4000 for 2 adult you fall back to 8000 pounds which is 16 million naira. The only way around it is to look for sponsorship job which will sponsor you for 5 years then it makes sense to recover your funds. Is sponsorship job easy to come by? Ask anyone in the uk All i am saying is that we spent money to come here, we didn't just dissappear to be here and that cost has to be factored into the profit to arrived at true profit or loss value. To count profit under the two years visa every graduate is given then u should save at least 1500 per month. All things being equal u have 36000 pounds in two years . That gives you 72m then minus ur 50m spent Or u get lucky enough to get 5 years sponsor job then you..continue saving 500 or 300 pounds a month for 5 years or more Outside this two scenario then u are at a lost You can read this story below https://www.nairaland.com/8376188/lady-cries-out-husband-runs

Mcslize: but my brothers and sisters and parents aren't roasting.I could remember vividly they sent me over 1.5m June last year ago to roundup something in Nigeria when i wanted to buy a land Remember i was in Nigeria in 2023 when Tinubu took over. You can consider changing your business, look into something that could help solve people's problems. You could as well look into tech. Facebook has started monetization u could start making interesting videos that covers interesting topics. I am into tech likewise. See this earnings i made currently. I opened this account that same year i left Nigeria. Its an adsense account connected to my YouTube channel. I do cash out almost 500k every two months and this money is sent to my Nigerian account. I dont touch it. I leave it there then use it to buy lands in cheap places. Do something dont limit your mind if its pure water, if its to learn carpentry, conduit wiring, painting, POP. Learn it we have over 300 million people in Nigeria that's a market almost equal to half of western Europe Pix removed |

Mcslize:That's a mindset of criminals and thieves. Find something meaningful and engage in. The whites i have seen here are leaving a frugal lifestyle. No expensive car. Most don't have cars, no gold, no expensive clothes just clothes of 10 pounds some buy second hands clothes , no university degree, no houses the few that owns houses just have 2 or 1 bedroom flat and they pay it working for over 35 years in service. No much children just one kid and a pet dog. They have a frugal mindset |

studyless123:Go and sit down oga. You don't know anything about real estate. These are the types of limiting mindsets that keep people stuck in poverty forever. That mindset of "what if, what if." Always having mediocre and overly cautious mindset is not good if you really want to be financially free. Financial freedom is the way to go. Don't let anybody discourage you with their poverty mindsets. It will only keep you stuck in one position for so long, cuz you don't like taking calculated risks. Life is all about risks taking. Oh, you haven't heard about the global housing crisis that is ongoing? There is nothing like if nobody rents the house. Have you built a house and nobody rents it? There are no enough houses to go round the population of every nation. The western world is experiencing housing crisis currently and that's why the construction industry is booming at the moment even here in Nigeria. Even here in Nigeria, have you ever built a well standard house and nobody rents it? They will rush the house as far as it's a good house. Any single delay, another person have paid for the house asap. That's what happened to me when I wanted to rent a well standard 1 bed room apartment as a single bachelor that comes with POP, wardrobe and kitchen cabinet. I told the agent that I will make payment of total package of 900k the next day. Before I got there the following day, another person had paid for the house. And guess what I was told, first pay first serve. Time waits for no one. The thing pain me gan. For your information, there are no enough houses globally just in case you don't know. That's why you can never go wrong with real estate business. |

Mcslize:Be calming down sir. I never said I was a real estate expert and at this stage of my life I'm not interested in taking useless risks. 1. You're uninformed on how the housing market works in the western world and 2. I've seen many houses where no one rents it and the owners lose it. There are many cities where rents prices have dropped and there are many cities where there's an oversupply of homes. You can go wrong with real estate investment if you don't carry out the necessary analysis. |
