It has happened in Nigeria multiple times and on both occasions, the Supreme Court of Nigeria did not rule on it whether it’s legal or illegal.

So the President can do it in Nigeria until the Supreme Court says otherwise because the provision in the constitution is ambiguous and can be translated to multiple things.

Lastly, Nigeria constitution is different from USA constitution.

The section 305 states that in an event where there’s a conflict among the 3 arms of government such that one stops the other/others from functioning and as a result, there is a breakdown of law and order (anarchy) in the state—the one which threatens National security and economy, the President has the right and power to wade in and declare the state ungoverned since according to the constitution, a government is said to exist ONLY when all the 3 ARMS are functioning.
If a fight erupts in any of the 50 states of the US between a governor and the legislatures and violent break downs of laws and order becomes the order of the day and the governor is deemed unable to contain the crisis, the President of the United States can use his emergency powers to suspend such governor. Get yourself educated more and stop being pushed by your emotions.

El-Rufai is a liar. The ruling of Supreme Court is not even on the fact that the president can suspend or not, it is other things.

Please provide the evidence where the Supreme Court said the President had no such power in the suspension of Dariye. I am waiting.

Yes, according to the United States of America’s constitution, the President can order the martial law in a State where there is a complete breakdown of law and order. In the event of total chaos, the one such that the state government is overwhelmed and deemed unfit to unhandle, yes, he can be suspended with the martial law with the national congress’ approval and consent but can not be removed. His removal can only be carried out by his State’s legislature and the populace through public recall petition process.
I know you are in a perpetual conflict with common sense but the answer is Yes (according to their constitution) and can only happen only under serious circumstances such as uncontrollable chaos.
Now the difference between theirs and ours is that while theirs only states that suspension could happen only when there’s a uncontrollable crisis, ours states that it can happen even when there’s a serious conflict between the 3 arms of government making up the governing body of the State. According to the Nigerian constitution, THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT IF ONE OF THE ARMS OF GOVERNMENT IS MISSING.
It is explicitly written in our constitution and if you’re mad about that, you can start the process of signing a petition for the removal of that section but till that time, it remains a part of our constitution
